hi all,

this little integral-hunter was built on order:

W1 forged
pre-ban ivory
length 21cm
sharp 10cm
thickness 3,0-1,5mm
...and yes, it has a sheath, but I forgot to take pictures

thanks for looking!

gerhard

You have a very unique, elegant and organic style , which I like alot

I'll second or third elegant (or exquisite) !
Very nice carving/shaping of the ivory.
Thanks for showing.

Doug

Eish..........!

Graceful, stunning, elegant, flowing............all the superlatives are not enough.

Top job, sir!

Exquisite is the word that comes to my mind also!

As usual the knife has a perfect "flow" from pommel to tip.

Peter

Gerhard that is fantastic ! Love the flowing lines, as I do with all your work.
Cheers Keith

this is an absolutely gorgeous knife!
It has so much going for it. Simple, subtle lines and the interplay between the finish of the steel and the pillowy look of the ivory really do it for me.

However, if I were to have commissioned it, I think I would pass on the carving at the butt of the handle. Well done as it is, I don't see that it adds to the overall aesthetic. I really dig the simple subtlety that otherwise elevates this knife into the sublime.

It's really hard to top all that's been said about this wonderful piece. I think "elegant" has been used already, but it's the first word that popped into my head. Add all the other adjectives, too, because they all fit. It's gorgeous.

betzner, the 4th, & lorien,
thank you too for your kind words!

@lorien,
you´re right with your thoughts concerning the butt-
a clean grip was our first design, but then we made the ´actuel´ version.
two reasons:
-the lines of the fluted spine and their opening towards the integral-part is now repeated at the butt.
I like to do so for a more ´integrated´ look between blade and grip.

-in 2011 I built a more rugged hunter/edc for this customer, also with ivory and a carved line at the sides ( picts below).
for showing the relationship and the genes we decided to use this design-element at the new one also- in a matching way.

here are some thumbnails with the two knives beside each other:
