Hey guys and gals, some friends and I are planning a camping trip at Huntington Reservoir here in Central Utah for the end of June. You all are invited.
Campout will be the last week or June, Probably a Thursday to Saturday or Wednesday to Saturday. We'll be camping on the back side of the Reservoir. It's about a 630 yard walk from the parking lot across the dam and only a few years from the res. The area is quite secluded.
Activities will include Camping (of course), hiking, fishing, star gazing, exploring, loafing around, Flying Kites (if you bring them) or what ever. We are planning to catch some Trout each day and roast them over the fire. May do some group Dutch oven dinners like Chili, Turkey soup or other good things. Maybe Tinfoil/Hobo dinners one night. Fish for sure!
Am advertising now so that anyone interested has time to make preparations to make it. I've done this trip off and on since 2008 and as a kid. It's totally worth it, if you can make it. Car camping 20 yards from the shore of a mountain Reservoir. The dam sits at ~9,015 feet, the Reservoir is fed from mountain springs. Mark your calenders now!
