Hey guys and gals, some friends and I are planning a camping trip at Huntington Reservoir here in Central Utah for the end of June. You all are invited.

Campout will be the last week or June, Probably a Thursday to Saturday or Wednesday to Saturday. We'll be camping on the back side of the Reservoir. It's about a 630 yard walk from the parking lot across the dam and only a few years from the res. The area is quite secluded.

Activities will include Camping (of course), hiking, fishing, star gazing, exploring, loafing around, Flying Kites (if you bring them) or what ever. We are planning to catch some Trout each day and roast them over the fire. May do some group Dutch oven dinners like Chili, Turkey soup or other good things. Maybe Tinfoil/Hobo dinners one night. Fish for sure!

Am advertising now so that anyone interested has time to make preparations to make it. I've done this trip off and on since 2008 and as a kid. It's totally worth it, if you can make it. Car camping 20 yards from the shore of a mountain Reservoir. The dam sits at ~9,015 feet, the Reservoir is fed from mountain springs. Mark your calenders now!

Beautiful country. I've love to walk around through them woods for 5 or 6 months and check it all out.

Thanks for the early info... I would love to go camping sometime. Getting away from work is the hard part, at least you gave everyone plenty of prep time :D

I haven't been there in years! If I wasn't already headed to UT three times this year, for other non fishing purposes, I would be all over it. Would love to catch some tigers!

Joe, most of those pictures are from the trail that goes all around the reservoir. You should come over for the trip. There's a four-wheeler trail from the parking lot that you could get over to get to camp. Heck, stay at the forest service campsite and join us for day stuff. You'd love it!

Come on over, you've got 6 months to plan and prep.

Hope you have fun when you come to Utah. If you are ever in Central Utah, look me up.

Looks like fun, thanks for the head's up. We'll see as it gets a little closer.

Sounds fun, but I prefer condo camping now. We spend a lot of time in St. George.

That's cool! Been a while since I was in Saint George. Nice place, very pretty, but Very hot in the summer.

The Huntington Res trip is this now less then 2 weeks away, the 19th and 20th. If anyone is interested in joining us, let me know!

Would love to, unfortunately, I have just started a new job, and I have a lot of work that needs to be completed. Next time, hopefully, the planets will all align correctly for us to attend. Thank you for the invite!

Woh, I never said anything about paying for the trip. :p LOL! The only thing I promise is: Huntington Reservoir and surrounding area is really pretty! I have pictures of Deer and sheep, hawks and eagles and fish in the area.

Last time I was there, I Watched a hawk swoop down and grab a fish right out of the water. Saw that a few times actually. That evening, I watched thunder heads roll in and start lighting up the eastern sky, It was spectacular.

One of my first sarges once said i was a trouble making rumor monger except he used the "stirrer" word....i always loved standing on the rim of a canyon and watching the hawks circle below and slowly rise and when level with me to scope me out as possible baby food....
