Hey guys. So my fiance asked me to clean her hamsters cage out since i was home yesterday. The hamster has a wire cage with a tube that goes to the top of the cage into a small house like carrier. I put him in the carrier while i was cleaning the cage and when i was done put it all back together. Apparently the little guy has put on some ounces because he tried to squeeze down the tube and his head was out the first hole on the way to the bottom and his butt was stuck at the top still. Laying on my bed i waited for him to come down and when i realized he was stuck i got up and took the top of the cage off. Tried pushing him through, didn't work. I wish i got pictures as it was funny but scary at the same time. I had no idea if he had injured his back or was suffocating or whatnot. So i ran to my EDC drawer and grabbed my huntsman lite. Opened up the can opener and pried the injection molded tube apart at the seams enough to get the tool in and twisted. One side popped partially open. I did the same to the otherside. I pried it the rest of the way and he was free. Embaressed he went down to the bottom and slept off the ordeal.
