Hurricane preparedness with a Busse edge

That is an interesting take on hurricane preparedness but no judgement. It missed us by quite a ways so we're just gettin some light gusts right now. I saw it made landfall in Cape Coral as a category 4 and has absolutely destroyed certain neighborhoods. Really hate to see that but it goes with the territory when you live on the coast in Florida. Much safer to be 30 miles or more inland if you can help it.

I hear you, and my thoughts and prayers are with the folks further down south that suffered a direct hit. Up until yesterday, that direct hit was headed right for us, and I had spent the last 48 hours shuttering windows, gathering supplies, and other prep. And for alll we knew, it could have tilted a bit and still hit us yesterday, were in Tampa Bay, Saint Petersburg. There wasnt much sleep the last two days and that cigar was my first break in the action.

My parents live in Punta Gorda. I spoke with them while they were in the eye. Lost comms after that but heard from them this morning. They said that while they were getting hit by the first wall it was so loud inside their home they had to yell to each other to be able to hear.

Just got power back a few hours ago. Luckily no damage to the house. Family is fine, Bussekin are good, and air conditioning is back on, life is great.
