Hurricane Season, Avian Flu, and Zombies...are you stocking up?

So, here we are at the beginning of another century. The last big avian flu outbreak is known as the Spanish Flu of 1918, and here we are, about that time again in human history.

Flu season starts just as hurricane season is slowing down. Could be interesting on supplies if the Avian flu jumps to our species during that period of time. The 1918 flu circled the earth 3 times in 18 months. This one could be more interesting because everyone is dependant on everyone else, nobody can isolate themselves anymore.

What are yall doing? I am beginning to get some basic stuff. I can't stock 18 months food for myself and my neighbors, so I am putting together some first aid kits and making sure I have a small stockpile of ammo and rifles to go around.

BTW, how effective is the 8mm Mauser round on zombies? I am really worried about this bird flu thing and picking up a .308 just to compare the two.

You've written this vital thread at THE appropriate time. The year anniversary of Bill and Rusty's passing is upon us shortly. Nothing could honor our late friend Rusty more than an old fashioned paranoid inspired stocking up for Doomsday. Extra mags and bullets, water, it would all make his heart proud.
Everyone knows Rusty was the leading proponent of BACKUP, you gotta have BACKUP.

assuming viral immunity, pick up all the dead ducks, put in freezer, make duck jerky, cooking or drying kills virus. cooking or drying also kills neighbors if they get uppity and/or troublesome. unless you live purdy far from others, putting neighbors in freezer with ducks is frowned on, as is making them into jerky. you be the judge on that one tho for yersel'. (tastes like pork). make lotsa arrows & a nice recurve bow fur when the gunpowder runs out or get a few flintlock blackpowder firearms & a good minie ball mold for them. get a recipe book on making & corning BP. walk softly and carry a big kukhri.

if viral immunity don't happen, dig big hole, jump in & wait. call neighbor on cell phone. if far from others, he can make you into jerky. if not far, he can fill in hole.
