Hi Greg, Ralf and others.
First, Ralf you are 100% correct my web site currently does say Reeve Custom. This will be changed this week.
I like the rest of the knife buying public was deceived by Reeve. We thought we were buying custom knives and in fact we were purchasing the most expensive factory knife in the world.
I bought the knives in good faith. I guess I was foolish for that. As the integrity of the maker in question has now become apparent.
I did not find out about Reeve, until I arrived that the Guild Show this past July and was informed that Chris admitted that for over a year he had not touched any of the knives himself. This was the reason he was not allowed to display his catalog items at the Guild Show.
While Chris has posted on other forums and told others that we are not doing business anymore because I coated 10 of his knives. The truth of the matter is that I stopped doing business with Chris Reeve, because I do not buy FACTORY KNIVES.
With this now in the open, anyone who reads this on this forum can contact me and receive a 15% discount on any and all Reeve knives I have remaining. This should become common place as Im pretty sure all factory knives are sold at a discount.
Once these knives are gone, you will never see a Reeve knife on my web site again. With one possible exception Reeve did hand make 72 custom Sebenza's. These knives are marked with a H and then the number.
I recently sold one of my customers a old Sebenza marked P6 which 100 of these were made in the old style with this marking.
My customer showed the knife to Reeve and was told it was worth between $450 and $500. Perhaps in Reeve's mind it was. However, factory knives are really not worth that kind of money, except for a few rare collectors items. I sold the knife for $250.00, its original price.
I publish for those of you who run across this type of knife. Dont belive the hype.
Reality is what the knife really sells for.
I appreciate all of you who have brought the Reeve issue to my attention.
Les
