****Contest closed: Winner selected... Southern Woods!****

Hello, all!

Do you like small traditional blades but suffer an affliction that prevents you from having any? Do you have trouble with stiff pulls or other mechanics that make using a small traditional style knife too difficult for practical use? If so, this giveaway is for YOU!

If you meet this criteria, and are at least 18 years old, please post your expression of interest in whichever manner you see fit (please post only once, as your post # is your entry for random number selection draw.) Contest closes June 14th...

Now a bit about the prize pack: I'm giving away a small quality folder and fixed blade combo... but you'll just have to wait and see what they are! I think both are excellent knives that are easy to use, but a struggling someone might just appreciate 'em a little more than I do. Now the folder's pretty small, mind, but if you can hold it steady enough to catch the little nail nicks, you should have no trouble opening her up!

Good luck to all who enter! :)

-Brett

**** ETA: I'd really like to give these knives to someone who loves Traditionals but can't fully use and enjoy 'em due to a condition such as (but not limited to) arthritis, Parkinson's, other muscle/nerve damage affecting motor skills, etc.

I'd love to be able to give the joy of Traditional knives back to someone. That's what this giveaway is all about.

For those of us fortunate enough to enjoy the bear-traps in our collections, let us be content to sit on the sidelines and cheer on the others who enter this GAW in the spirit it was intended! ****

Not an entry, but I'm just interested to see what the little knife, which is so easy to open, is. Great idea for a GAW!

I, myself have nails made of steel, or so it seems. Never have trouble, even with the "nail-breakers." I just keep them short enough, and no knife will be denied it's opening.

I just had an appointment with a rheumatologist a couple of weeks ago. I've been having some joint pain and swelling. Turns out I just have osteoarthritis at 33 years old. So, I'm in! :) Thanks!

...deleting my entry.... Just saw the bold text at the bottom of the gaw.

Not an entry, though this is a very generous GAW that deserves more entries.
I just don't qualify with my rock-crushing grip strength.

This is an awesome GAW. I love small knives but am able to open them without too much difficulty, so not an entry, but looking forward to seeing what you have as a surprise!
Thanks.

Not an entry, just a huge thank you for timberweasel for a giveaway that shows great forethought and compassion for us old farts afflicted with the ills of time. God bless you, Brett!:thumb up:

Carl.

Great giveaway idea sir and very generous  I was just looking at a clasp knife I'd like to put into a giveaway, but it occurred to me that some folk would struggle with the stiff pulls for sure. Not an entry please, but good luck everyone :)

Great idea for a GAW! Not an entry, I appear to be relatively normal for a 51yo with waay too many knives.

I love a good stiff pull. I'm interested in seeing the prizes, but this is not an entry.

Not an entry from me.

But wanted to comment on what a thoughtful give away this is. Personally, my worst problems are occurring in the winter time and any small knife is out for me. I work in the cold sometimes, or the cold and wet of winter and just getting a small knife out of my pocket is problem enough. Then getting one open and gripping it properly to use... ouch!

I hope your blades go to a deserving winner.

Robert

This is not an entry, I just wanted to say that this is an excellent giveaway and I truly hope these go to someone that can appreciate the thought you put into this. Nicely done.

Hi, my name is [removed], and I would love to join. I love traditional knives, but I suffer from fairly substantial arthritis. My joints often swell at night, and it can be fairly painful. The ironic thing is, I haven't even turned 21 yet and will most likely have to undergo surgery within the next few year. Once again, this is very generous of you. :)

I have included a link to pictures of my finger, for those of you curious what they look like. (sorry for the thumb background, and the fact that I can't figure out how to rotate them )

Please count me in and Thanks!

If I happen to be fortunate enough to win, I'll gift the knives to my Dad. He has arthritis and joint pain so bad at times that he can't sleep at night. I guess after 40 years of working with your hands that something has to wear out. He is scheduled for surgery in July on one hand, then will have surgery on the other later in the year. I recently bought him an automatic knife due to the fact that he had such as hard time opening his normal carry.

Just wanted to make sure folks who qualify for this giveaway have a chance to enter before it closes on June 14th... :)

I'll announce the winner on Saturday and post some pics of the prize pack.

Thanks to all who make this community the very best on the internet!
