Couple questions about the Husqvarna axes. One, are they made by Wetterlings, and are they a good ax for the money?

They're made by Hults Bruks now and are in my option the absolute hands down best value for axes on the new market. They will need edge work, but good steel, good haft, swede made at the price point they go for is a steal. I love the ones I've used and own.

The all purpose axe made from ???? til 2011 if I remember correctly were made by wetterlings . The forestry axe as it is called now is in fact made by Hultsfors. I own the hatchet and the forestry axe. Both came with very nice handles and decent looking heads.

They both also had a working edge that needed some attention to bring them to my standard of sharpness. The Grinds were pretty even requiring little if any Re-profiling, but some what rough. Both sharpened up with minimal work and hold the edge remarkably well. I have more time on the hatchet than the forest axe since I own a Stihl for any heavy work...

For the money they are a great value and look great, but not as refined as some other and much more expensive Swedish offerings.

Here is a review that explains the history a bit and other good info.
