I've been doing more leather work lately than knife making.
I've toyed with getting this axe for a while. Glad I did.
I finished the handle with boiled linseed oil, sand blasted and sanded the head.
Sooner or later I'll rebevel and sharpen the edge.
For right now It's a blank to make leather goods on.
The templates are ready. Just ordered more leather. I hope to be doing a run
of these shortly.
I'll be making some carrying options / slings for these to fit in shortly......
Maybe a nice trail knife and axe combo set (or two)..
Here's one in 9/10 oz. London Tan ;

Thanks for the nice comments.
I noticed some concern on snaps holding up
and staying strong enough to not pop open
when an axe is packed with other gear, so
I decided to go with a cinch cord.
This tightens securely by pulling the knot.
It works great. I'll have to make a video
showing how well it does.
Thanks,
Mike
