I had my monthly shower, scraped my tooth and went into the big city for my new toy. For fifty bucks I am well satisfied with what I see and feel, wonky grain orientation and all. This is a lighter duty tool and I'm not levelling a forest with it. So far I like it, not too heavy, not too light. It is in need of a sharpening and is currently slurping up some boiled Linseed. I'll see if I can sneak out tomorrow and split a knee cap or two.

I touched the edge up a bit, it still needs more work. I gathered up four small axe\hatchets to do a compare\ impression vid. I am an average Joe with no special axe knowledge\skills so maybe some of the non guru folk will find it useful.

It's an excellent hatchet for the money, imo. I love mine.

I enjoyed the vid. I have a Wetterlings small hunters axe that I love. Have always eyed the Husqvarnas.

Thanks. I almost bought a small hunter last year. The Huskies are contracted out to top makers and are restamped to their own brand name at manufacture. So basically we get a decent Swedish axe at around half the price of Wett. or Bruks. If I can get the same performance I could care less about a prestigious name.
