I don't even know why I'm showing this one. Just bored I guess. It's a hybrid -- a cross between my Montero hunter and El Camino personal carry.

Forged 1084, zone treated, stainless guard and Corby bolts, African Blackwood handle. It has a short sharpened chisel-ground clip.

The inset shows the functional, and ever-so-slightly decorative filework which serves as a thumb grip.

You're showing it because you like to give the rest of us a treat.

I can't see the hamon. That is not normal for one of your knives.

Love that African Blackwood. It is one of my favorite handle materials.

By the way Terry, this is an outstanding knife.

That is a fantastic-looking knife! It begs to be carried -- by me of course. :D

Hi Terry
And again thumbs up from Switzerland for this fine knife!
I can't help myself, but never saw one of your knives I didn't like.

Terry,

Nice work, the only thing I don't like about this one is the clip. I noticed, at a NY knife show earlier this year, that Jerry Fisk uses a similar style thumb grip. Do those little indentations near the filing serve as a blade stop or something? I studied the blade for a while but couldn't figure it out.

Jose,
Hee-hee -- you're too much into that "everything has to be functional" thing brother :D . (And I am just poking fun at you here.)

The two little half moons are nothing more that a visual termination point for the thumb grooves. That's the same reason Jerry does it. It's pure aesthetics and serves no usable function at all.

Terry,

Thanks for the reply. Don't worry about poking fun at me, I don't offend easily...:D

I came to that conclusion but the idea that it could be a blade stop just came to me.

That's a neat and useful-looking knife Terry. That file-worked thumb ramp is a success from both an aesthetic and ergonomic perspective. And I love the clip. If this is what we get to see when you get bored, then I hope you get bored more often.

Cheers,

Roger
