Hydralic press question

I think its best to have the tank mounted above the pump so it is lubed at all times. Its possible the pump has a check valve so it doesnt have to pump air before the oil gets to it. Mine is mounted higher than the pump. Bruce B

Duh - I just picked up a 5 HP hydraulic power unit to use with the press I want to make. Have to admit though I don't know from nothing about hydraulics but then again I won't let that stop me either. Anyone know where to get a large bore cylinder at a really good price??
