Can someone please recommend a good hydration bladder for use with the Junglas Laserna pack?

I'm finding a lot of them, but they all seem to include some type of backpack with them.

I'm also hoping to find one that can be easily filled using a MSR waterworks filter or the Katadyn Vario.

Thanks

You can buy Camelbak bladders separately at stores like Dick's and REI, however I'm not sure what fits in the Laserna as I do not own one. Look for the Camelbak Omega at these stores (or their sites), it is a great bladder. They are coming out with a new model soon so it may be a good idea to wait a bit.

As for easily filling it, this attachment should be usable with just about any bladder and works very well. The large side (yellow and blue one) replaced the bite valve on your hose. The bite valve then gets installed on one of the smaller pieces that comes in the kit while the second small piece is installed into the output hose of your filter. This allows you to very quickly remove the bite valve and plug in your water filter hose so you can fill the bladder through your drinking tube without having to remove all the stuff from your pack. Works like a charm.

Most of mine are Blackhawk Tactical 2 and 3 liters that I picked up for 5 bucks. Durable, reliable... they don't leak, haven't had any issues with mold or stink inside the bladder itself. I'm pretty sure they are the least expensive brand name bladder on the market.

I'm not familiar with the Laserna pack either, but the Camelbak Hotshot fits mostly all 3 day sized packs.

Its also very well insulated and since its the 3.1L it has a lower profile baffled bladder over the standard Camelbak.

If you want a six liter bladder for significant water carrying, the Sixbak is also quite good (its basically a 6L Hotshot)

However, the Sixbak only will fit the larger sized 3 day packs.

You can find any 3L bag on Amazon at alot cheaper than storefronts except for maybe the blackhawk tact, that seems super inexpensive. Camelbak titanium has never failed me yet, I got one in my Maxpedition Kodiak. Good luck.

I like the Platypus bladders. I have had 3 for over 2 years now and they are not showing any wear and tear.

I love the Source Hydration Bladders. They have the typical fill hole but they also have a huge opening at the top that can be open for cleaning. You can literally stick your hand and arm down into the bag. They are also very competitively priced.

Thanks for all the great info. I ended up ordering the Camelbak Storm as I liked the molle/pals attachments it has. I still won't part with my nalgene bottles, this will just allow for some extra capacity.
