hydraulic kydex press

I spent too much time in HF the other day and picked up a small A frame press that i thought would work well to compress my kydex press plates. Here it is. I had an air/over hydraulic jack that i used to replace the hand jack that it came with. I had to cut out the frame a bit to fit the plates and used a wood spacer on the top to fit the new jack.

It works great. It takes about 4 seconds to fully compress using 120 PSI. It works much better (and is much faster) than the screw clamp that i have been using.

Tell me what you think.

That is pretty neat. Where did you pick it up from and what was price?

PDE - I got everything from Harbor Freight for about $150.00. They sell a larger press with an air/over that would work without any mods, but it costs $300.00.

Doh!!

I picked up the A frame because it was the only small one that our local HF retail store had in stock. Are you using this one in your shop? Do you have any pics that you can share? Do you find that the hand crank on the jack is fast enough?

I pesonally do not use one yet but I have seen and tried it and it worked very well. Under a huge snow storm now but plan on heading to the closest Harbor and getting one tuesday for my own use.
