What type of die should I build first? Was planning on building a combination die for drawing and flating. I purchase a kit from Swain Spring.

George, Jeff at Swains Spring Service is a great guy to deal with. I think a combination die first is the way to go. One that draws and flattens side by side in the same die. Next would come the full length flattening die. Aout 6-8" long and very flat and strong. With that long of a die it is easy to bend and spread the ends open and then its only good for tapers after that. Been there. Make sure you have it reinforced. Have fun, How is the eye feeling? Thanks Bruce. The eye is doing great. Went thru 5# of welding rods today working on the press and making the bases for the dies.
