Okay, this is not a knife and gun scenario.

You have to up end your whole life and start from stratch. You are given a new identity and dropped off in a large North American city that you've never been before. You have no money - not a cent. No posessions other than the clothes on your back. You cannot contact your family, friends or use any business connections you've built. The only thing you *have* is your education and skills, but you cannot use your resume or references. Let's assume you have a clean bill of health.

No one is trying to kill you or kidnap you. In fact, no one cares about you at all. How do you get on with your life and achieve your dreams?

Remember, it's getting dark and you'll be hungry soon.

Since I only have the clothes on my back, I assume i'm wearing casual clothing. Also, a homeless shelter (Saint Vincent De Paul's) here in San Diego provides you with full accomidations (food/shelter/shower area/etc.) provided you are looking for a job and that you can provide proof of it. Paycheck will eventually be saved up so I can use the bus, buy basic necessities, and when enough is saved, pay rent. I would probably hold multiple jobs in places that would require a provided uniform, since I have a lack of clothing. Probably places like McDonalds. Gradually work my way up into a better situation. Anyone see anything wrong in what i'd do, or add anything to it?

Get out of the city. Hitchhike to a rural area, do a few odd jobs - enough to buy a little food and some shirts at the Salvation Army. Get a job on a farm or ranch where some type of lodging is likely to be provided. Start using your money to improve your quality of life. Make friends with the locals. Spend time on the front porch with your friends, just pickin' the guitar and singing folk songs. Go hunting every fall and fishing every spring. Spend August nights watching the meteors fall. Pick huckleberries in September...

Now THAT'S living.
