I’ve got this picked red bone Damascus 110 that I’ve been wondering about.

I used to be on Randall’s mailing list back in the late 80s early 90s and this buck knife was offered but I had to buy three of them, I kept one and sold off the other two to get my money back. I didn’t think it would ever have any value other than what I paid for it so I had the bolsters engraved with a western scroll, probably screwed up any value that it may have had but then I don’t buy stuff for those reasons, though it’s nice to know I can get my money back if I needed to.

So the interweb is a great place and I spent a good part of the day trying to find another like it. I saw the Damascus 110 thread in this sub forum and snapped these pictures when I got home from work, if anybody knows anything about it should be you guys. I think the guy at Damascus USA told me they made the blades for Buck but I could be remembering it wrong.

So what do you know about this knife, it’s been well used you should see the case. But it is easily kept razor sharp and the edge holds it well.

howdy guy,
the damascus blade was most likely made by parker frost they made a lot for buck
the X is made in 1990
the red bone was a good seller priced over 100$
that the knife was used lightly is not an issue
hard use will decrease value
the engraveing will affect value some with pure collectors and with others will add value
your knife looks real nice and would look nice in MY display case!
no i am not trying to buy it! jest saying that it looks good!
ebay value ... well ebay is depressed for now..
should sell for 150 to 200..
insurance value is more like 250..
hope this helps and others will likely have more to add

Thanks for the information Dave. I save the tool steel knives for the hard uses. Damascus I use for soft materials.
