Hello everyone..I bought my first 2 OTF knives this week.
Here in Indiana...it just became legal to carry them on July 1st so it was time to try them out.
I picked up both of my knives off of this forum..with the first one being a NIB HK Epidemic with black blade.
My other purchase is a NIB Microtech Ultratech with black handle and black dagger blade but it won't be here until the 13th.
I like to make my items "my own"...so last night I got out some thin sheet paper, thin Styrene and some red vinyl striping.
I used the paper and a pencil to create a shadow/outline drawing of the cutouts in the HK's handle and to outline the HK logo.
Then I transferred that over to styrene with my exacto.
Then I used the styrene pieces as a pattern and my exacto again to cutout my vinyl.
It took me several hours to make it look this way...and I can leave it like this so that it's removable or I could also seal it permanently with something like clear nail polish.
BTW...the "HK" Logo...I did it all in ONE PIECE of vinyl !
Making the styrene pattern for that one and cutting out the vinyl for it was fun-fun-fun...I tell ya !
I've only got just the one side done right now...I'll do the other on Fri night when my new exacto blades arrive ! HaHa !
I like how it looks now..and it makes it "Mine".
What do you guys think about it ?
