I attained the status of a respectable wood worker.
Nonetheless I almost cut off my thumb about 5 minutes ago.

Just a heads up - nobody gets a free ride.

Nope.
Stopped in the nick of time - threw the knife to avoid the bad thing that was about to happen.
Nonetheless I almost (( whut? u almost whut? )) up bad.
Not kidding.
I'm supposed to be skilled and I screwed up.
It can happen to anybody.
Just be careful.

I had my pinky bandaged for 3 weeks due to an axe :) Just got done with that.

Your knife was just sayin it liked you ;)

I like to use Kevlar laced gloves when I work with really sharp things. They aren't cut proof, but they are cut resistant.

I have these and some that don't have the rubber grippers.

Whoops!I cut my thumb with my Vic Huntsman today.I was wiping off the blade with my shirt, and cut through it into my thumb.Never done that stunt before(stupid),oh well.

One of the first things i did with a knife was to attempt to whittle off my left ring finger pad.
Still have a very visible scar.

I'm just glad I didn't throw the knife into my dog.
It almost happened.
Man, oh man... that was a wake up call.
Gotta stay humble around sharp stuff.
If there is a God, He just did an intervention.

me - I'm thankful that I still have ten fingers and a good dog... and I'm done trying to 'master' fancy-dancy knife maneuvers.

'nuther tip - make sure the snap on your fixed blade sheath is securely fastened at all times...

3 days after the "event"

I've been cut all over my digits. A lot of them from blade wipe-downs/cut myself through the cloth, sharpening, maintenance, dropping and rebounds into the leg and foot - you name it and I've probably self inflicted it!

Fortunately, thank God, only one was really bad and should have been stitched - the Rajah 1 mishap. It was open on my cleaning table and I bumped it. It promptly fell - butt first into the carpet, rebounding in a perfect kukri slash across my shin bone. I was able to butterfly the leg meat together and tightly bandage it. Better in about a couple of weeks after many re-dressings.

I should be a stockholder in Hydrogen Peroxide, Neosporin and Bandaids. Those days are long gone and I hope I don't see another big event - EVER! :D

wow i actully got a deep cut on my hand right before the thumb with an axe not a blade so i currently have butterfly band aids and black tape to keep it on

Once I was doing a cord wrap on a Mora handle and got overconfident with the crappy cardboard temp sheath I taped on. Slipped out of the sheath and stabbed me in the wrist: I now have a very visible scar and tendonitis/nerve problems in that wrist and hand.

Oh, also once I dropped my razor in the shower and tried to catch it (I know, I know) and did...with my forearm. I somehow slapped the blade on my arm and got a big cut that oozed creepily for several hours.
