i look like the dea just discovered my little garden out in the woods

compare that to when i have the junglas with me (from last spring):

which is the complete opposite of how i feel about them. i really like using the lite machete, i've used it a lot more these past few months than the junglas. if i'm carrying a 4" knife anyway and i know i'm going to chop wood i'll pick the machete over the junglas anyday! some action shots from last weekend. thanks to gonadz for the pics!

this wood was insanely hard but the machete bit deep. for those who say a machete has no business being out in the hardwoods of the north obviously haven't used one first hand. for those waiting for the junglas to become in stock again, you might want to pick up the lite machete in the mean time...you just might be pleasantly surprised what essentially is a $10 blade can do.

these pics came from my iphone so don't go comparing it to gonadz awesome pics! i caught this weird pile of white stuff from the corner of my eye at about 50 ft or so away and just had to take a closer look...it turned out to be bones. some freaky stuff all piled up like that!

closer look. i should've laid down a knife next to it for size reference but i just wanted to get outta there.

i don't do the ultra-light crap but if i had to, this would be it :D

JV3, any type of hunting allowed where you were? Possibility of poachers maybe . . .
Eerie to say the least, go idea to vacate the area . . .
Be safe.

Excellent pics, I need to get out more.

I always look angry when I'm holding my (Nevermind)

What's really weird is that they all look like the same type of bone - that is, there aren't an assortment of rib bones, vertebrae, skulls, jawbones, etc, etc, etc.

That wood sucked to chop through, but the Lite Machete seemed to have no issues with it. That first pic almost had the "Nadz, but the fuggin camera down, this isn't a Nat Geo shoot" look to you hahaha. Hell, if JV3 weren't my friend, I feel as though I might've been choppified after that face!

The bones are eerie, for sure. Machetes are great on any kind of wood, although I feel the Junglas is better for hard wood as the machetes usually stick for me.

They look like old cattle bones...I stumbled across a pile once before myself. It costs money to throw away a dead cow. Cutting them into pices and leaving them in the bush is cheeper. Some kids prolly found them and piled them on the rock. nothing to worry about I wouldn't think.

Nice pix BTW....Thanx

Looks like a day well spent!

What kind of gloves are those by the way? I'm looking for a new pair.

Thanks for sharing

Wow those bones are weird. Not so sure I want to go hiking and bushcrafting in your neck of the woods anymore;). Cool pics.

You look pretty happy to me....choppin' stuff up in the woods ;)

We're coming outta the deep freeze :grumpy:finally :D
Maybe I'll get out one of these days! I have a Tram. that's about the same size as the lite.Great chopper !

In California you can have your 'garden' all nice 'n legal!

yeah, i saw a discovery show about it with that lisa ling girl...you guys are crazy over there...insanely strict gun laws but lax on those medical stuff.

what kinds of bones are those?

no idea but it's pretty thick and long, i'd say much thicker than a human's leg bone. my best guess is it's cow bones.

Nice! Great action shots -- no "desktop reviews" allowed here. :D

thanks, esav. i'd do a desktop review if i had a big enough desk for the machete :D i might bring it to the next njkca meet.

SPYderco for the win !!:thumbup::)

sharp eyes :D the mora didn't get used at all and i'm sure it's done. thankfully it was cheap unlike the bhk.

deer season was over for a few months now and even then these bones are pretty big. i'm thinking cow bones (based on the chew toys i see in the pet store) but the surrounding area is all residential since a long time ago.

hmmm...tiger bones? it was a drive-thru safari in the '70s after all when it was abandoned with animals let loose. i'm guessing something big.

yup, no other type of bones just those leg looking bones. maybe i should buy a plastic human skull and put it on top to freak others even more :D

i'm starting to get used to having a big-a%$ camera pointed at me. sometimes i get caught off-guard and i get flashbacks of a speedtrap! one of these days i'm going to think i'm famous and will start expecting bushcraft groupies to show up, haha.

i think you're right. they're too thick for deer bones. other thing i can think of are bear bones but they're very rare in this particular park and i don't think there's a hunting season for them even when there's a lot of them in a nearby state park.

they're "firm grip" that i got from home depot. they're comfortable but garbage when it comes to durability. they're fine for working on cars but after 2-3 hikes/camp fires the index and thumb finger areas have big holes in them already. they're $20 too but i haven't found heavy duty ones that are just as comfortable. on my next set i'll just buy a $6 100% cowhide gloves also, cut it up into squares and reinforce the weak spots.

don't be a sissy! that's why i have those esee throwing knives :p

i'm sure you'll like it! i only bring the junglas as backup nowadays.

Those ESEE's are sweet. I'de love to try them out. Maybe you and Riley could come up here in July and we could chop some stuff.

Yes. or depending on size reference could be deer. Deer get a least one disease that make think they are thirsty so they die near water. Those bones are very old and were gather up when they looked like they do now. A kid or kids piled their found treasure there.

Definatly not a satanic cult etc.
