I dont see how people can stand doing nothing.

TV sucks.

I've been ordered to stay at home on bedrest for another freakin month and will have a 10 lb lifting limit for up to 6 months. Heck I cant even take a leak by myself with that limit :D

I think I will be a nutcase very soon.:grumpy:

I know it is hard to follow Dr.s instructions after back surgery, but take it from me...do what he says for the long run. I have had a lower back discectomy and vertabra fusion in the neck. I am doing well with both, but I remember trying to hurry back to work with the lower back and it just about did me in. I followed directions after the neck and did a lot better. Take your time and have fun with becoming a nut case. Seriously I feel for you! Hang in there and you will be back at it again soon! That taking a leak problem...just find good help...lol.

oh, Oprah will be on soon enough and you'll feel all better. :D

Hang in there, dude.

True anecdote: I've got a friend who has serious back issues. Once upon a time she decided to do more than allowed after a surgery... Now she has an 18"-long steel rod pinned to her vertebrae and has to bend at the waist to pick anything up at all.

So DEFINITELY follow the doctor's orders! Unless you want refrigerator magnets following you around the house! :D

When this happens, get on line, and share with your friends, here, on the BLadeForums. We will help you smile your way through the crazies.  :jerkit: he he Fred

Hey Mark, I feel for you but do what your told. When I had my by-pass I wasn't on bed rest but was told to take it easy with a 10 pound max for 3 months. Withing two weeks I was feeding the cows. Tried rolling the bales of hay to the truck and then they would jump in the truck. I started forging in less than a month after the opening. My chest bothers me constantly to this day and that was done in 2000. The month will be gone in no time.

I feel for Ya Mark.I cant stand doing nothing either.50000 channels and nothing on  What i do when i cant get any shop time is doodle, kinda like those big ideas you get when your on the throne.draw out Ideas sketch some knives and hawks maybe re-arrange your shop on paper and see what you come up with, just dont get too ambitious Dr.'s do know best. Good luck with the healing process :)

Now is a good time to catch up on reading. That's what I would do. Follow the doc's orders or it may extend your recovery longer. You'll be back at the forge in no time.:)
