Col. Dwight McLemore is famous for teaching the seals and marines tactical "knife" fighting....also he is one of the foremost experts on Bowie "knife" fighting. Is an article by him about Bowie "Knife" Fighting in a magazine not a "knife" related topic to discuss??? How is this spam? Is it because I mentioned where to find the magazine if someone is interested in reading a "knife" article????

If it is spam....how about the guy promoting the movie "Undead"???? That does not even have anything to do with knives!!

I really don't get it.....please....help me get it....

Thanks....

If the first post you make on a forum promotes a site or product, it is often construed as spam. There's a huge difference between a vacuum-cleaner salesman and your neighbour showing off his vacuum-cleaner ;)

 SO.....if it was not my "first" post it would be ok?

Seriously just trying to understand for the future......I happen to be deeply involved with "blades" of any type, so I want to be able to stick around...

1. Read the Announcement at this top of Community. Absolutely no knife discussion of any kind is to go on in here unless it is for get togethers and show announcements.

2. You linked to a site promoting someone else's business that in no way benefits BFC. If someone is interested in that sort of thing they have the means to find it on their own.

3. Questions like this belong in Service & Support. So off it goes.

Sorry.....but it does not say that on my computer....if you could show me where it says that I would appreciate it......

And look....I am not here to start trouble of any kind but I have to say your short, abrupt writing is very confrontational.....I am asking to understand and you are acting like I am a dummy.....I can find no wording that tells me that I can't post about knives in the community......

At the top of the Community Center Forum you will see "Announcements". You will find this thread.

Word to the wise.....bad mouthing the mods is a sure way to get yourself banned.

I deal with morons everyday on this forum who think they know all the answers and are always right. I don't have time for pleasantries. You come onto this forum and don't bother to read the rules. You post threads that are either in the wrong forum, SPAM, etc. and expect us to cut you some slack because you are newbies to the forum. I highly suggest you go back and read the FAQ's before you make anymore posts. It will save you and us (the mods) a great deal of trouble in the future.

who's that? :D
The Community forum is a good place to recommend entertaining books or movies to our fellow forumites. I have done it several times, when I watched movies I enjoyed. I would hardly call it "promoting" the movie- Thats what previews are for. I dont have a financial stake in any movie. And, as our friendly neighborhood moderator has stated- Knife related topics do not belong in the community center.

If I was talking about knife content in said movie, it would belong in the Blade Discussion Forum. If I was talking about styles of fighting in a movie, it would belong in practical tactical. KV doesnt pussyfoot around, since he ends up moving a ton of threads- you can imagine that would be tedious.

When I saw your first post here I got the impression you were a spammer posting an ad for your own magazine. We get that all the time. As I recall ... no, I'll go check, be right back ....

... yes, you posted "... will be one of our featured articles in our December issue" ... that still looks like spam to me. Well, we didn't ban you yet, and maybe we won't have to. You can't post ads in the discussion forums, though.
