I am considering a Sebenza

Yep, real knife. The ads here get scoured by so many eyes that you can pretty much guarantee a fake won't last that long on the exchange before being pointed out by someone. That model is a special for Wilson Combat dubbed the Starbenza.

I assume it is just as good as the regular Sebenza? Just a limited edition because of the radial shape grooves?

Yep, Chinas not faking the Wilson Combat model... yet. I love those scales, but I'm partial to the insingo blade shape; if regular is what your looking for, that's a good deal IMO.

It's actually even better. Those grooves improve the already good grip of the Ti scales. I'm sorely tempted on this one myself, it's a really good deal.

I am very close to pulling the trigger on this one. The only issue is that I like the micarta inlay model as well.

No, I am not going to buy one of each. That is a VERY slippery slope that I am trying to avoid.

Good luck :p

Bought my first CRK, the Small Insingo, and said I would only have one. A couple months later the Small Starbenza came out (which was the first Sebenza with that pattern), and I couldn't stop myself.

You say that now....just wait until you get the Starbenza, and all of a sudden you'll get this itch...and then you'll have to get the micarta, and then a large, and then an umnum, and then and then and then....

Enjoy it if you pull the trigger, you won't regret it!

P.S. Not to derail your thread but how bout a picture of that custom?? I am curious as to what the Seb will be replacing.

Keith has since retired from knife making and to be honest I am afraid of dropping it on pavement and damaging the handle scales. I LOVE this knife, it is the perfect knife for me but with no way to have it repaired if required has me spooked.

Nice score, I really like that pattern. Whats with the pocket clip screw protruding through the scale? Is that just normal on the small sebs? I only have a large so looks out of place.. thats probably just the OCD talking tho :p

The clip is coming off as soon as I get it so I am not overly concerned about the screw length.

It is a good question, should the clip screw be that long?

Mighty fine Coleman there, Easy. Good to see you in this forum.

Pete was a big Coleman fan as well. I sure miss Pete.

You'll love the Sebenza for EDC. Slim and sturdy. Best to you and your familly.

Prof.

Hi there Professor. I miss Pete as well but he was really happy in Phoenix playing Grandfather. We were both big fans of Keith Coleman after we went over to his place for me to place my order. I wouldn't retire my Coleman folder if Keith had not retired from knife making. I am sure I will drop it on concrete and bust up the handles. The Sebenza or Starbenza will work out better for me or at least that is what I believe. It has a straight handle which I like and find to be versatile. It also has a hollow grind blade like my Keith Coleman custom which I just love.

I am looking forward to trying out my new knife when it gets here.

Actually they are. It's sickeningly similar to the real one too. Easy things to look for is it doesnt have the CR logo, it has blue lugs and pin, and the blade has some words and s35vn etched on it. They only have it in small and the blade is claimed as S35vn.

That doesn't make me real happy. The picture of the one I bought shows the CR logo and doesn't seem to show any writing. It sure looks like the real deal compared to the photos on Wilson Combat website.
