... that I belong in here, traditional folder's and fixed blades subforum.

I just got my very first Case knife. Case peanut with amber bone and SS blades. This is... amazing little piece. Fit and finish are flawless, knife is small and sturdy. Blades are sharp and amber bone is pure pleasure to watch.

I was meant to order Kershaw Leek Black... but I think instead that I am going to order Case XX Texas Jack knife with amber bone handles and CV blades...

Having this Case knife I can now fully say that good bye tactical knives, hello slipjoints from now on (though I might buy Junkyard Dog I with frame lock later on )

I'll get soon my Medium stockman from Case and Sodbuster Jr from Case which one is in mail and my stockman is still with my brother who ordered it for me due he had credit card and he promised to mail it soon with my Fenix P3D which he sold to me... Texas Jack Knife will be a nice addition.

If I have to choose between modern "tactical" blade and traditional slipjoint, I would go for traditional slipjoint without hesitation, but I have a feeling I am not alone in here.

Sounds like you got some big plans for your next knives....got any pictures of that peanut? I'm going to buy another slippie today but I can't decide if I want a stockman or a peanut. Anyways, sounds like you have a really nice little collection started.

i think the little peanut has won more people over to our side than any other pattern!
I Love my Case slipjoints especially the Yellow handled CV ones:thumbup: The traditional working mans knife:)
In the future if your wallet can stand it ya might try Schatt and Morgan, they also make some beautiful knives:thumbup:
all the best

Ahh, the classic and versatile Peanut pattern. Good choice! Disappears in ones pocket but plenty of steel for a multitude of every day cutting chores.

Going from tactical to traditional always feels like coming home. :) Glad your here.

Now that is one pretty knife, thanks for showing the pics.. Really makes me want a peanut even more now, it would be a good knife to take to work so I dont scare people :p.

Peanut is good for office. its small enough not to be taken as serious weapon, yet it has enough cutting power to be good letter opener and small box opener... Next stop: Texas Jack knife... amber bone like my Peanut of course ^^

Very true, I think the best choice for me would be either a peanut or a jack knife, in amber bone of course.

If you like SS, you're gonna LOVE CV. It takes a keen edge and keeps it for a long time.

Also, don't overlook the Case Swayback Jack in CV. Designed by Tony Bose for Case, and finished to higher F&F because of Tony's work with Case, it's not to be missed. it is a very old pattern that has been introduced, and may not be around forever.

Not only that, but Amber Bone is one of CASE's nicest scales, next stop a Large Stockman......

Did someone mention peanuts?

I think ivan called it right that the peanut has won over more people to edc'ing a knife than any other pocket knife exept for maybe a Victorinox classic. It's small and sheeple friendly, has great cutting ability, and even the ladies call it cute.

Peanuts are a great knife, everyone should have one.

But then, I'm very predjudiced. :D

I did looked swayback's. Lovely knives... one itty bitty problem.... Not too many retailer's sale them internationally... I found just two retailers from evil Bay... Perhaps next year there are more... better changes?

But I will buy next Texas Jack knife from Case with CV next ^^ I just have to wait couple of weeks so I have money to do that ^^

clip knives definitely have uses but true pocket knives are the bread & butter of mainstream america. i have many of both but a peanut or small stockman will handle 99% of dailey chores.

Hi jamppa,

Nope, you are not alone. I too just went through a similar scenario. Traditionals just seem to make all things right. I started out wanting just one, now I`m on my second page of "must buys" list. The peanut just made the list too.

Jampa,
Welcome home. Nice nut! I shouldna looked at that. However, it is always Case CV that always makes me open my wallet.

Nice thread.

Thank you all from warm welcome. If my schedule is right no more hic-ups come, before holidays I have

Case XX Peanut Amberbone SS (in pictures )
Case 6.5 Stagbone Medium Stockman CV ( that's at my brother's atm )
Case Sodbuster Jr SS (in the mail)
Case Texas Jack CV (will get money in few weeks)

I think it will be a good start.

Next year I will probably get:

Case Yellow synthetic handle Medium stockman CV
Case (mini) Copperlock

Perhaps also:

Butterbean or baby Butterbean
Small Pen Knife ( Case has some nice models )
Trapper
