Some of you sell on Ebay or various forums or word of mouth and so forth, and i wonder do you ever get remarks like:
"That`s a lot of $$ you charging for bending couple pieces of plastic and popping few rivets"
"would you take half of what you`re asking"
"everybody can make kydex sheaths"
"i`m a sheath maker myself and your design is bad"(this one with no explanation why of course)
"that`s too much you should sell it for less"

i probably forgot a few....

I'm a mere leather guy but here is how I would cope with such bs...

Some of you sell on Ebay or various forums or word of mouth and so forth, and i wonder do you ever get remarks like:
"That`s a lot of $$ you charging for bending couple pieces of plastic and popping few rivets" Yo mama's poppin a few.
"would you take half of what you`re asking" Yo mama wouldn't
"everybody can make kydex sheaths" Yo mama can't
"i`m a sheath maker myself and your design is bad" So is yo Mama
"that`s too much you should sell it for less" Yo Mama don't

i probably forgot a few....

Hope this helps.

I have heard people say similar things in regard to knife making too. I simply tell em to go make one themselves and send me a pic :) If it was sooooo easy, everybody would do it!

I find people that say that are usually all of about 13 extremely wise, according to them, years old and have no idea what anything costs let alone anything else. My response is simple, Anytime you think you can do better, feel free to step up and show me how it's done.

sonil, you have nothing to worry about... your work is to notch, I've often thought about asking you to help out with a few that I'm having issues with... then I think "he'll never let me live this down lol"

Anyone who is worth anything won't comment on like that... or if they do see a flaw in your work they'll identify it to you, and assist in fixing it... kinda like the folks here!

Best thing to do is ignore them. They obviously haven't a clue about what it takes to do quality work.

Even though I do my own, I appreciate what others make too. It's got a learning curve, and it's a pain to do certain things and I have crappy patience. So I got lots of respect for other makers out there. Espically dealing with really particular customers with super odd needs.

I don't sell them except an extra every now and then. I can say that anyone that says anyone can make one has no idea what it takes to make a good one.
