I am going to do it! DON'T TRY TO STOP ME!

I am sick and tired of pulling out my wood inlaid Large Sebenza from its box, polishing it and placing it back in the box. I have decided that today is the day. I have placed it in my right front pocket and will begin to carry it daily. It is too fine a knife to leave at home under wraps. It is the smoothest opening knife I have and by far as sharp a knife as my D-2 Doziers. BTW I will continue to carry a Dozier folder in a horizontal sheath. This week its the Buckhunter.
Well, just had to get that out in the open. I am presenting my woody to the world. If you care to look, just ask, and I will pull it out!
So, and I think I asked this in an earlier post, how many other woody carriers are there? Sound off, so I know I am not alone in this big ole' world!

it is hard not to use them and after aquiring an un-named GG (great Guy *2) to deal with ,awesome work ,sheath for my small woody it will be impossible not to carry mine! How many sebenza's being carried at a time is considered to be bad form?

My collection is 4 knives at this point. Large (plain) Sebenza, Umfaan, Microtech CTII and an Allen Blade Chipmunk. I use them all. I will own a wood inlay someday, and I'll use the heck out of it. That is what these knives are all made for, use. Not wasting away in a drawer somewhere, but cutting, slicing, dicing, mincing, whatever the task at hand.

Sorry, I get loopy after too much turkey...

Good for you Artsig. I find my small curly maple to be an excellent daily carry. Actually I think that the woodies are the best daily carry Sebenza. The inlay allows the thumb to slide down and onto the thumb stud in a natural movement. As you mentioned, the movement seems smoother than my other Sebs and the blade is wicked sharp. The wood doesn't show fingerprints and requires less wiping down than the decorated Sebenzas. It doesn't scuff like the standard and the inlay feels better in the hand. With considerate care (no keyes or change in the same pocket), the woodie should provide you with great service and retain its new look. I've carried mine daily for two weeks and haven't found the slightest scratch. And you can find solice in the fact that you can send the knife back for a tune up at a nominal fee. What more could you ask for? Not to mention the satisfaction that you will get everytime you take that baby out. Now you will be able to enjoy your woodie all day long! To keep a knife like this in a box just isn't right.

Scott Dog, fellow brother of the Woodyhood, truer words were never spoken! I always carry my knife only in the right hand pocket. The left hand was made for change and the like ( unless your left handed then its vice a versa ) I agree that the wood is much less likely to show wear than the standard bb titanium. This is too beautiful a knife to keep at home. Just last night at work, I work part time at Wal Mart to earn knife money, I had the knife laid out because I was polishing the blade. A customer came by and immediately picked it up. I didn't say anything but you can bet I had my eye on him! He was just blown away by the beauty of the knife and of course inquired where it was in our knife showcase. Told him we were out, but it usually fell in between the Schrades and the Gerbers. He said he would keep checking back and see if we got one in! LOL!
Well its off to the Super Center for the Christmas shoppers. Ya'll have a good un!

Artsig1, good for you, fellow Sebenza lover. Sebenzas knives are made to be used. I must admit, though, that I'm sick with jealousy. I don't have a Woody yet. I just ordered a Large Woody from CRK.

Say G2, that is exactly the type of sheath I am looking for. How do I go about ordering one? Is ther a part number? Can the sheath be made to accomadate the 'Benza with the pocket clip remaining attatched? Thanks.

G2,

Aren't you glad you kept that baby? (That is still one of the nicest pieces of wood I've seen from CRK...)

Michael, yes I'm very glad it worked out that I did keep it, its the center of my collection!

Art, sorry no part number yet, haven't gotten that big...but the knife needs to have the clip removed, sorry about that but it does feel nicer in the hand without that clip, at least I think it does and the sheath holds the knife very well, email me if you are interested...

Guys:
I have found that the polished area near the pivot on the clip side can get very faint scratch marks. I find that fritz polishing every so often keeps them away. I also decided to try my woodie without the lanyard. When I first saw a Sebenza, I thought that the lanyard was goofy. When I bought and handeled my first Sebenza (a small plain). I found the lanyard to be handy. It makes the knife easier to pull out. But,the lanyard sceams,"I've got a knife!". At first the knife looked like it was missing something but now I kind of like the way it looks. Now it sits low in the pocket and due to the very well thought out new clip, it is very easy to withdraw the knife. And if I change my mind, I could put it back. Any comments from my fellow woodies? Maybe I'll send it to Gary Graley for a fancy leather one. How bout it G2?
