I figured that I had better do some posting, it has been awhile and I have been busy filling orders.
This one has a 12" blade with a file worked spine and a Sambar Stag Crown stick handle. The guard has been stippled to add something different. Gib

Good work Gib, I love your frontier bowies, and I've had the pleasure of handling a couple a couple years ago and can attest to there ballance and feel. The stippling is a nice touch.

I really like how you left the marks in it left over from forging, for some reason I just like the appearance of knives like that, I guess it blends the past/present and the material/product. I thought I was doing something original when I made my first knife from a file and left some parts of the file in it and just recently found out tha Anzo does that :( . I plan to leave my first forged blade the same way yours is, with its forging marks left in it, it looks great, nice work :) Just curious (im a newbie to making knives), why is it that in your 3rd picture, there is a notch cut out in the knife? Keep up the good work :) ... oh yea, keep it for yourself :D

I'd keep everything I make if it looked that good Gib. Oh wait a minute, I do keep everything I make. Not that it looks that good though :D Frontier rules!!!

As usual, it's beautiful Gib. You have really found your calling with the Bowie's. Play with it for a while and see if you want to keep it or sell it and try for a better one.

I always say I'm going to keep them then the "lets make it better" bug hits!

The notch in the blade is called a Spanish Notch and is something that I started doing on most of my knives. The stippling was done with a small egg shaped carbide burr. Thanks for the comments it takes some practice and is time consuming and tedious. Gib

Nice one Gib, lots of charactor and it just screams to be used. For sure a dandy to carry to keep the boogy monster away when your walking down that dark alley. :D

Nice work

Bill
