well i put some money on my pay pal account a while ago and i bought a ffg delica. i still have about $68 left on there and i cant decide what i want to buy. i want an edc blade and i like the looks of a tactical blade, but im not exactly concerned about self defense. i also want the blade to be over 3 inches. the knifes i have looked into are:

-esee izula with some para cord (i know that the blade isnt over 3 inches)

-benchmade 550hg with black coating

-spyderco endura ffg

-spyderco stretch

-buck vantage pro

-spyderco manix 2 (can find it on here, shipped, for under $68)

also if you guys have any recommendations they are greatly welcome

+1 on the Izula. The short blade length has not prevented it from excelling at a majority of the tasks that I would need a knife for in my daily life. Only when I get out into the wilderness does this knife take a back seat to something bigger.

why don't you decide between fixed and folder, first....
then.... there are MANY options :)
if you'll end up choosing folder - JUNK YARD DOG II

this isn't a good place to go to narrow stuff down

we will give you more options and make your choice harder!

out of the list, I'd have to go with the stretch or the ffg endura, (although manix 2 is a great knife too)

I got the vantage pro, didn't like it all that much

also, i'd look into cold steel recon 1 (2010 version) and a g10 tyrade

what about the new para 2 by spydie? both r awsome...i have to say i love the grip with the black blade probly one of my favorite knives. the izula r good too. my vote would be the manix 2 and then the grip. you get a little less bang for your buck with the grip but a little more edge. manix 2 promptly pushed the grip out of my pocket, then the para 2 did that to the grip. lemme know if you want side by sides...i have the grip, para, izula, and manix.

All of your choices are great and in time you should collect every one of them. Not too long ago I started using my ESEE Izula for my EDC and really don't understand why I didn't try it sooner. As much as I love Spyderco and always will have several around I think I'm gonna stay with the Izula for a while. Try the Izula, you'll be very pleased.

Ya can't go wrong with this one -- Benchmade 551 Griptillian Combo. Black coated blades aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Buy one at a time - off the forums if you can find them. Use them, edc them, fondle them. Sell it if it doesn't make you smile after two weeks. Move onto the next one.

Repeat.

Keep a running list of the features that you like and the ones you don't. Stay away from the knives that have 2 or more features you don't like. Try not to be obsessed with blade steel unless you are absolutely sure you need the attributes of that particular steel.

Thats what I do.

I need to hold one in my hand and use it before I can be sure it's for me.

The Native is good but IMO is a very light use EDC. I'm not a big fan of it being linerless. I also snapped off a tiny bit of my tip trying to cut a zip tie. How, I will never know.

Get a griptilian, it may feel a bit cheap but watch Ankerson's destruction video of it. Very sturdy.

spyderco endura 4 G-10 SS lined w/backlock & ffg - Izula is the bomb too I have 3 of them!
