I am on budget and am getting Ontario sp10 !

I would like to have a large old style cowboy bowie, but have tight budget and need money for other things.Ontario sp 10 seems like good candidate for makeover, changing the handle to coffin style and regrinding blade to saber or full convex, or even really shallow almost flat convex grind.Opinions are welcome.
