Just gonna look. Yea, right. Stopped into local knife pusher at a local mall. And lo and behold, what do you think he has sitting in the showcase. A SOG Trident Tiger Stripe (TF-3_ and the Flash II Aluminum. Well, needless to say, they are now sitting on my desk as I type this. The Trident is just AWESOME!! And the Flash II Aluminium, well what can I say that already hasn't been said. And both knives are super sharp right out of the box. Just superior pieces. As I said, I am sick, sick, sick. And loving it the entire time. :D :D

Richard... You make me jealous  :grumpy:

I sure wish I could go out and blow that kinda cash on SOGs I would probably own there entire line of knives by now.;)

Your kidding !!! :D Your for sure are as sick as the rest of us........it's a sickness. I can't believe you bought both ! That is great news, I am so glad you got them because now I don't feel so bad about myself buying so many........

They are sweet knives, one has qualities over the other and so on, each has it's own special look and feel.

I am partial to the sound of the Flash II when the blade clicks out, that kind a POP against aluminum or zytel. And if you try this, it even sounds louder and feels stronger......hold Flash where "blade" is upside down when open, knife is level, now tilt the blade towards the floor, angle of tip is about 5 o' clock, now remember this angle and close blade and angle knife back to 5 o' clock and open.

I know this may seem silly, but I think gravity is at it's optimum for the blade and it combined with the spring load seems to propel the blade out much faster, therfore providing the ultimate in viewing pleasure  .........yes I'm sick.

Don't let anyone in your house see you do this, we want to keep it a secret.

the knive darn near jumped out of my hand. That is quick. And, yes, I'm a nut case. But at my age, when you start to collect, you got to do it quickly cause ya just don't know how long ya got. And believe me, I want to enjoy every minute of it. Just been saving my birthday and anniversary money and put a bit of my retirement dollars aside each month. When I have enough, I go and do the deed. This should be it for a while. Got to start saving again. I think I want a Flash Tiger Stripe (the kids, hopefully will work on that one) and at least one Revolver. :D

Richard, I know exactly what you mean, it sure is fun. And for some reason these knives just draw me to them.....

Congratulations on your purchases!!!!!!!!
The TF-3 in Tiger Stripe is by far my most popular and best seller. People just love 'em!!!!!!!
Once she breaks in a bit she'll be as fast as any auto out there!!!
I use a little "Tri-Flow" on all the blades that leave here and usually run the actions about a hundred times or so. Some actions are tight and some are looser.....but they eventually just level out and work great w/ zero adjustments.

Take care.

I have been sitting here playing with the Trident. A bit stiff to start, but gradually loosening up. While I was at the Knife Shop, some other customers were commenting on the laws here in California about what kind of knives one can legally carry. When the subject came up about switchblades and such, I showed them the speed in which the Flash can open. They were very impressed. The sales person stated that the SAT knives open quicker than any switchblade he had ever seen.

I've got a number of autos, the Flash (SAT's) are pretty close in speed....almost, or equivelent to, an auto in speed- I'd hesitate to say Faster.
They sure are fun though!!!!
You can loosen the mechanism w/ an Allen tool to smooth it out if you wish....just be VERY careful. Just a little loosening goes a Lonnnng way! There's a fine line between a smooth action and blade slop w/ the Flash series.
