Here's some advice, take it or leave it.

You made an insensitive joke and got your hands smacked. You made an apology and should move on. Do you think arguing with cray will help your apology come across as sincere? Take my words or leave em. Most leave em, I won't be surprised.

There are always lines to cross and you found one (documented in the FAQ). You owned up to it and apologized. Some will accept it and others will not but don't worry about it. There isn't anything to be gained arguing with those who don't accept it as you're not going to change their minds. I recommend just leaving this thread alone and continue enjoying the site.
