M390 is one of my favorite steels, congrats!
 
Your going to like it. I am not a huge fan of the platform, but I like the alloy.

Do you have any diamond sharpening equipment?
If not, get some. Your going to need it, or SiC.

I love my guardian 3 in M390. True story, I’ve not sharpened it in months and months. I have only stropped it from time to time and it still shaved and push cuts with ease. Part of that is the fantastic edge geometry but mostly it’s the amazing steel!

Edge geometry is huge, once I reprofile on my edge pro m390 seems to hold an edge forever.
 
I guess I need to tell you all that I have to eat crow... I got an updated shipping notice from UPS stating delivery is to be made tomorrow instead of today. Furthermore, the UPS Shipping Notice was tagged with a link to Amazon that I overlooked initially. I am thinking this is something that was on backorder shortly after the Holidays. Given the weight of the inbound package I guess I was hoping that it was my knife coming in from BBS, but tomorrow I will be proven wrong, I plead the 5th. :confused:
