There are more than a few special people, in our midst, here on "the porch".
This thread is to single out one of the best, in my opinion.

Alan, joeradza joeradza as he is known here, has been a wonderful friend to me over the past years.
Always there to talk/ listen, always honest, straight forward, no BS, and generous to a fault. He has helped me in many different ways. Too many to mention them individually. I have also noticed that it's not just me he is that way with. I know he doesn't want the recognition, but I can't help it.
Alan, I am so thankful to call you my friend. Thanks for everything, my brother!

Now on to the knives.
This one happened to be my first interaction with Alan. He had claimed this knife, here on our Exchange, with an "I'll take it". I was just a minute behind him in my response of I'll take it. He very graciously offered to let me have it instead. I was honestly shocked, and dumbfounded, but also very excited at the same time. Why would someone bow out on such a fabulous knife (at a very fair price)? Because that's how he is.

I have more experiences to add, but will at a later date.
If Alan has touched your life in some way, please use this thread to let him know. Thanks

Well put Ramrodmb Ramrodmb !!
Alan and I have chatted online about knives, cars and life from time to time and I have always found him to be generous with his time and knowledge.
And as everyone knows, he’s a fantastic photographer! I imagine that I speak for everyone when I say “Thank you, Alan” for gracing The Porch with your images.

Alan is a great guy and friend. I have discussed knives and dogs, traded knives and received alerts from Alan about things I was interested in acquiring. He is one of the many joys of this forum (the best place on the internet!).

Congrats to Mark and Harry! Beautiful knives!

I'm very lucky to call Alan my friend, as well. I've made a couple of posts eluding to the difficult time I've had in 2018. I won't go into a ton of detail, but there have been many instances of trials, tribulations, and heartache. My latest (and somehow least trying) trial is leading to me posting this message by candlelight in my home. Alan (and Randy) have been incredibly supportive of me this year; firing off many messages and emails with words of encouragement, advice, commiseration, and care. Those messages will always stay with me. What will also always stay with me is the generosity they have both shown me.

Alan messaged me a while back that he had purchased two of the new BF Buck knives and that one would be heading to me. To sit back and think about not only the generosity of the knife, but to realize and appreciate the time and words he gave to me, honestly, brings a tear to my eye. I've been in really bad spots this year, culminating in the second worst day of my life, only following the death of my father.

The BF Buck is wonderful. The friendship and care are incredibly special and important to me, and every time I carry this knife I will be reminded.

Thank you, Alan.
