Yes, at my job they call me the RMATS King. RMATS = Remote Maintenance And Testing System. Basically at our shop it's troubleshooting or making changes to phone systems and voice mail systems remotely using a variety of programs. It's not that I'm some great genius, it's just that I get the most practice at it.

So, today with this big snow storm coming in we're anticipating a day off tomorrow. My boss comes in and says:

Boss: "Jim, you have broadband at home, right?"

Me: "Yep."

Boss: "You know how to VPN into the server and get to your PC, right?"

Me: "Yep."

Boss: "If I give you a folder full of tickets to do at home tomorrow, would you have a problem with that?"

Me (smiling on the outside, wincing on the inside) "Nope."

So, now everybody gets a day off tomorrow, except the RMATS King. I wish I sucked at it.

There is nothing I can say that would make this better.

Perhaps there's another Forumite living near you...who could be trusted to 'cut your line?' Never mind, sounds like your boss is the unreasonable type...
