manowar,we Chinese can't buy knives in ordinary stores,there are no kinves stores due to the forbidden of owning knives.but we could get knkves form underground knives merchants who can smuggle these from hongkong.

You have become a famous man in the Forums,because of your struggle against a very stupid government,who tries to forbid you and you other Chinese to have the all the knives you want´s!
I have to admire you for this. If i want´s a knife,i simply order it from a Knife dealer,and in a week i have it in my hands.
But is apparantly not so easy for you to do so. How can any country forbid trading with knives? What is the pupose to do so?
I mean,whe are not exactly talking about narcotics or some thing like that!
Keep on struggleing,lachine!

fyi, the prohibitive aspect of imported knives is not gov. policy, it's cost. do a search sometime, an ordinary spyderco becomes awfully expensive once you add on the custom, import, dealer profit, and the 8x exchange rate toward US dollar. (think of paying $300 or so for an Endura!) I experienced this last time I went back to China.
furthermore, now you can buy benchmade, spyderco, cold steel, etc online and delivered to your door. what really needs to be developed is courier services such as UPS in the US.
