I sort of disappeared after this post.
Life suddenly decided to get in the way. Work got busy, ditto personal life, and then I went on vacation. However, I do appreciate the help and want to show you all what I ended up buying. Quick and crappy photos but you'll get the idea.
My camping trip got cancelled but I am looking forward to using this soon.
I can't wait to get out and put it through it's paces.
Even though I wasn't posting I was doing a lot of lurking which led to this. I really like the feel and action.
I bought it thinking I could put it into my EDC rotation but holy cow is this thing huge! 8.75" is a whole lot bigger in real life than on the web. I'm thinking of making a trade for a mini.
More lurking and reading made me decide I need to try some other steels. You all are a bad influence.
I went with a 710 in D2 and Mini-Rukus in S30V. I'm already familiar with, and quite like, 154CM but I picked up the Griptillian to keep in the glovebox as a beater.
Just for grins here's a photo of my current EDC.
Lightweight, tough, very functional, completely ambidextrous for us lefties, and small enough to be easily carried and not scare anyone at work.
Oh yeah, a Laguiole will be ordered in the next couple weeks. I need to stay away from here. You all are pounding my ammo budget.
