I would like to apologize to the Strider Knives Community for my bad form, casting its members into bad light in the R.W. Clark thread, as I was so eloquently advised by Mr. Kampfjaeger. Had I gone back and checked previous threads I would have seen that there have been individuals that have gone out of there way to just start crap. That was not my intentions. I do not post much on these forums, but when I do it is because I feel something needs to be said, and NOT just to jump on some bashing band wagon. And yes, Strider knives will sell themselves and do not need "Defenders of the Faith," but hey lies equal bad information and should be addressed. Sorry if I dragged you fellas down.



This is for you Kampfjaeger, as I "may not continue this via email."
My intentions were simple, lies were being stated and I called Mr. Clark on it and from the looks I was not the only one. You however decided to jump my $hit and only my $hit, I take offense to that. Now had Mr. Clark stood up and stated the things you did it would have been worth continuing in public. It would have been counter productive (to what had transpired in that thread) to continue my beef with you in public. I NEVER asked you to justify your anonymity to me at all. I simply wanted to get this issue resolved.
If you would reread the email I sent you as well as the last post, both stated "I am sure you have your reasons."

So yes, if I have a problem with someone I will go "crying" to whomever in private, person to person or face to face. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that part of being a man?

I did not want this part to be public because alot of you are sick of reading spats between formites. Again I apologize.

I know I'm feeding into your little drama, which is what you want, but hey... I'm bored.

First of all... Those of us who do not post our email addresses do so out of a desire for privacy. Out of courtesty, and an assumption that you had something of a delicate nature to say, I sent you mine. And it turned out that all you did was whine to me about disrespecting you, how you thought that it sucked, and that I was probably a kid hiding behind my computer. You went on to say that you were going "to the source" in a manly fashion by emailing me rather than speaking to me in the open forum.

Listen, If I am going to say something to someone, I expect a response - good or bad - in the same medium. That can mean face-to-face, back and forth on a thread, or exchanged emails. If I say something to you in an open thread, I expect an adult to respond in kind. If you want to tell me to go sh!t in my hat... fine. But when I address you on an issue and you then respond by wheedling my email out of me so you can whine in private... It doesn't inspire much respect.

As for the matter on which I jumped on you about - It is one thing to register your opposition to a supposed flame. That is what a number of us did. However, you went on to say that Clark's knives were only lookers and questioned his credibility as a knifemaker:

Mr. Clark makes very nice looking and, I'm certain, quite serviceable knives. They are just directed at a different market. If I was in the market for collecting knives for show (as these look too nice for me to want to mar through saltwater immersion, etc.) I would definitely consider some of Mr. Clarks Blades.

That is what I took exception to. I think you were wrong to go badmouthing someones lifework like that. You were stooping to the level that we were railing against.

By the way, if you are going to quote excerpts from the email I sent you in response to your whimpergram, you might as well post the message in its entirety.
 
WTF is your problem?? First off I have not once insulted you by calling you names.

Why do you bring your reasoning of your anonymity up again?? You have stated the reason three times to me, I get it already. Just from the way you conduct yourself tells me that you really have no reason to be anonymous, but hey whatever.

You post my quotes like you have something to prove to everyone, what's up with that?? I have not been dishonest in anything I have said. You know what I said about you being a kid behind your computer, please do not lead the people on.

So if I can wheedle your email from you what else can I talk you out of??, are you really that weak.

Do you know what "pretty" means? R.W. Clark's knives are very nice looking, nothing I would use for what I use knives for. Is that better for you! softer, gentler, kinder, more PC

Its obvious you do not want anyone to know who you are and that's fine. For all I know you are a some kid hiding behind the cover of your computer. More than likely not, but you never know. I am not trying to disrespect you, I just figure if you have a problem with someone you take to the source like a man.
 
As for your calling me a kid, I find that I have misread the email not once, but twice. I switched two words in the sentence.

For <i>that</i> part I owe you an apology.

The implication is there that you most likley were NOT a child, I would have thought you could catch on. It's obvious things must be spelled out for you.

You just don't get the gist, although I am sure you probably catch the gism fairly well.:eek:

I thought contacting you via email to resolve this showed some class, It was you who wanted to continue on this public forum.

So what about class??, the insults started with you not me. As for me being classy is not big on the priority list, especialy dealing with someone like yourself.

You on the other hand have shown me what kind of man you really aren't. So this is resolved for me.


I really did not want this to transpire into a full blown pissing match as you are probably a decent guy. You just come accross like the arrogant type, not that there is anything wrong with that. But mix it with being anal retentive, that can make a person slightly annoying.

It was pretty mild and far from insulting. I think you just can't handle being told that you are behaving badly. If you can't handle that, then tough. Don't throw out an insult if you cannot handle someone speaking back to you in a less than courteous manner. All I'm seeing here is a typed tantrum from you.

And yes, you had <i>every</i> intention of this evolving into a full-blown pissing match. Fortunately for you, I have the time right now, and the lack of anything much more interesting to do than to play with you.
