I awaiting my Military

I just sent my money to Knife Center for a plain edged Military. They say that these are on backorder, so please hurry and get them some!

On another point, can anybody tell me how long the blades on the full sized Dyad are to be? It sounds too good to be true. I liked the idea on the little one, but when I tried it, it was too small for my arthritic hands. I am eagerly awaiting the new one if the blades come in under 3", otherwise, I'll continue to carry my Delica98 in DC.

Hugh - They are a little over 3". Cannot measure axactly as the prototype is with the patent attorney. (Unique double lockback in the relationship between the two locking bars). Sorry 'bout the size problem. Maybe we can talk of the knifemakers in the Golden facility to grind one down to 3" for you?

Hugh,
I know it's hard waiting for that knife but that old saying "good things come to those that wait" is true here. It's a great knife, it really is. The Military was my first higher end quality knife and it's like a fine bottle of wine.....it gets better with age since you will appreciate its quality.

Take care,

Sal, that sounds great! I really like the idea, but it would be my daily carry at work, and, if you saw the thread under Community, you will know that DC is a strange place for more than the obvious reasons. They seem to believe that anything over 3" is a lethal weapon. What is funny, sort of, is that my father, as a young 2nd Lieutenant in the 3rd Cavalry (Mounted)in 1935 sat on a Court Martial of a Sergeant who had stabbed another Sergeant to death with a 2" penknife!

Hugh,
I am in the same boat as you, and I have already been waiting almost two weeks. The rest of my order appeared, so I have to continue to hold my breath...Good luck on getting yours soon too.

I feel like the kid waiting for his Captain Midnight secret decoder ring. The only difference between the men and the boys is the price of their toys.

Hey, I've been waiting since the end of March. If I look forward to getting home in the evening and seeing the nice little box that has failed to appear too many more times I am going to DIE....or at least be a little bit more unhappy about waiting. Good luck with your wait, I hope for both our sakes it is a short one.

It came today and I could not be happier! It is everything that I had expected it to be. Rage can just rage on.

Hugh,

Congrats and welcome to the "club". The serrated model cuts REALLY well. The neck sheath is something every Military owner should have. You really need both.

This is what I get from Dexter and Kelley (Senator) every time I go to a gun/knife show with them. I always end up spending my money while they are grinning from ear to ear (although Kelley did buy a large Wegner last weekend). Hey, who wouldn't listen to a Contributing Editor of a well known knife mag and someone who spends beaucoup bucks on his hobby? I can't compete! AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

You thought you'd be done, didn't you? It never ends. It's like a nightmare, but better.

Later,
Chris

Actually, it was the small Wegner I bought. However, I did try my darndest to cut the tip of my thumb off with the large Wegner.

(Many thanks to my much more experienced knife show attendee friend, Dexter, for his ever-present supply of Band-Aids.) My left-handed knife flicking has become much more proficient this week.

As for Dexter, it's hard to compete with a guy who must wear a safari vest in order to carry all of his blades. Let's see, there was the Military in the neck sheath, Starmate, MOD Trident, Centofante, etc... Not to mention the fact that every knife Chris or I handled, Dexter ALREADY owned.

BTW Chris, I should be getting in my new black-bladed Trident from Tim Flanagan this weekend. That should somewhat even out our purchases, right?
