Those were the words a good friend of mine uttered right before he handed me this beautiful old Randall knife that his dad had just given him. After beating him senseless for suggesting that I wouldn't know Randall knives, I proceeded to get the story behind this knife.
I'm not familiar with this particular model, but it appears to be in great shape. I asked him if he new the history of the piece and he said, "Let me call my dad and ask him."
His dad said that he bought it in San Antonio, TX for $38.00 because everyone on his B-29 crew had one and they were considered to be good luck. I immediately offered to "double his money" but he declined. Darn it!
