Hi,

It was all so innocent! Just one Vapor. A satin finish one. Then I find a need the black one too. Today I found a Black Shallot on close out at the local Wal-Mart while getting a new cheapie watch for work.

You guys are and evil bunch!:D:D

My small Kershaw collection:

i say we all join the club "i wish it wasn't so easy to purchase knives from the internet" cause i just dropped enough to make my credit card company leave those fraud warning messages on my answering machine :D

Hi,

Ok, it's either a mistake caused by subliminal wishful thinking about my next purchase, or it's that whole senility thing again.:o

It is of course a Scallion!!!

It sucks getting old!

Hey, no problem, Dale-e (is that like "Wall-e?" ;) ). Too many species of Onions running around!

(Although if there had been a close-out on black Shallots at Wal-Mart, I was gonna have to actually get up from this computer and head out there!)

Hi,

I don't know if it was much of a deal, but it was priced at $30 even. About $5 off of original cost.

I assume they've had it for a long time. There is a date of Aug 04 on the blade. Is this the "born on" date you guys talk about sometimes? I wonder if this a discontinued model, it's a 1620H3. When I search Kershaw's website, it returns no listing.

I'm not related to Wall-e. I'm a lot older and he's better looking than me.:) On the other hand, I'm taller and don't have to deal with all the fame.:D

Here's what I found on a website for that model; the first part of the description is somewhat generic for the Scallion line.

I wonder if the "H3" designation has anything to do with the way "Kershaw" is emblazoned across the handle?

HA! That designation was a special run for wally world. And yup, that's the Born On Date! I'm not sure, but it would seem wally world's not going to carry them anymore, so I guess it is discontinued. I've got 2 just like it, and I'll bet I've given away 30 of them as customer gifts. Kept the ww's around here busy for a while.

Ah-ha! Notice the three holes in the blade that are conspicuously absent in the current models? A write-up on epinions.com claims that's what the H3 designation refers to.

Thomas? Fact or fiction?

No one has welcomed him to the addiction yet?? Well, Welcome!! Btw, this is only the beginning!
