I still have it strapped on me! I was fortunate enough to get the model with the kydex sheath. For it's size I was expecting something a little heavier and clumsier to use but to me it's the perfect big all around balanced production knife i've held. The handle fits my hand perfectly. The sheath and knife stay close to the body so it's not bulky when walking around. I took a hard whack at a log and a few tree limbs and the knife only had a few marks on the black coating. I think this knife would accompany a few others on a camping trip

Congrats Don. I really love the Basic 9 as well and still use one whenever I go into the woods for brush clearing. I agree with you on the point that it certainly seems like it would be heavier from its looks. It seems to feel lighter because of the balance, and it hits like a Mac Truck with a razor strapped to the grill. ;)

Thanks,

Jerry

Congrats Don, I agree the Basic 9 is a great knife and design. One of my many regrets, is getting rid of mine :(

BTW, if I haven't told you before welcome to the Busse Forum :D:D

Welcome to the Busse forum! Congrats on the #9 as well, and on getting a nice kydex rig with it.

If you get a chance to give it much use, please give us a report. We love to hear about Busses in action :D .

Don welcome. Great knife.

I'm still kicking myself for not picking one up that I saw. smooth finish, kydex, for $150. AAAGGGHHHHHHH!!!

Ah, c'est la vie, eh?

Mike

Just got a used Basic 9 today, and it is an incredible knife! It has the smooth finish and a leather sheath.

The Basic #9 is truly deceiving. I got one because I felt as though I needed one to support my INFI addictiona and because I knew I could easily sell/trade the thing if I decided I not longer wished to own it.

Well, as you correctly stated, the Basic #9 is balanced and lighter/faster and handier than one would think. It is a definite user and not likely to be sold or traded by moi.

Hey thanks for the welcome guys. Latley i've had alot of money I could kill and I think I can kill a little more by getting an Assault Shaker...

Believe it or not, I've never handled a Basic 9, I just picked up a 5 the other day they are very comfortable in the hands.
Take it to the woods and beat the snot out of it, it'll love you for it. ;)

Congrats, Don!!
My big regret was letting a friend talk me out of my #9 for a too-sweet price! i shoulda kept it: Yep, those handles are THE Best in the Biz... No Doubt about it... If i ever get my "scam-money" back (yeah right) i'll invest in another one.
Or the Bad Apple...
Or an INFI Sword...
Or...
OK, OK, but the #9 IS HIGH on my list :D

DO ENJOY IT, Don !!!
