Just got the call....an offer we made on a perfect house was accepted!!!....I'll be in it with my lady by June 26th! We stole it off the market before it even had an open house!

Its a cute little house in Plaistow, Nh. About 1400sf. Nice 1/2 acre, big fenced in yard for the dog, deck, screened in porch, even a u turn driveway!etc etc...

Best of all?

24X24 finished basement with its own entrance, built in wrap around bench and shelving....dedicated to my new shop! Ohhhh yessss...:jerkit: :jerkit: It will be quite a sweet setup compared to my apartment shop and urban setting!

My girlfriend and I are so excited, stressed, and anticipatin the poorhouse. Better start grinding those knives!!!
 
Dave - Like Marcel said , freedom to do almost anything you want in regards to your shop . There is nothing like having your own place.I'm really happy for you & yours - have fun buddy !
 
Yeah Im pretty psyched. I currently work in a tiny shop, maybe 10X12 with a KMG, bandsaw, drillpress, oven and every other tool and supply in varying boxes, piles and makeshift shelving.

The idea that i'll be able to krank the KMG up to 220 volts, spread my tools out, store everything where I want and mainly, get myself set up for forging....its awesome!

The next few weeks will be beyond hectic. Im doing a show May 13-15 and have lots of work to do before next weekend for that on top of the mortgage, inspections, and then ultimately, packing up, and finalizing for the move...i am going to be busy!

it's much better than giving your money to someone else..and they always go up in value..I bought this place for 35 hundred bucks 30 years ago and a ton of work .. but worth it ..:) congrads Dave

Yeah this week is ultra hectic with a full work week plus my first two day show this weekend down in CT, plus having to finalize and sign on the mortgage and get all our inspections by Friday....PHEW. Im going to need a few beers this weekend after the show, thats for sure!
 
Sounds like a great buy with all the extras. The shop basement closed the deal for you I figure. Never look at what you owe on a new home,just look at the opportunities you now posses. Fred
