So I have had the itch to go razor shopping for a few days now, and I finally gave in and went to the flea markets. The first one was a disappointment, all I found were some SEs and one over priced, broken Flare Tip Super Speed. The second stop wasn't much better, almost no booths and once again all I could find were straights and SEs. In the last booth buried deep in the back of a cabinet I found these things

A Canadian Ball End Old Type in a 1947 Aristocrat case and a 1940s Gillette Bakelite blade bank. Wasn't what I was looking for, but still cool finds for a good price. I think I will sell the case and keep and use the blade bank and razor.

Things cleaned up pretty well too. Once cleaned the Old Type turned out to be a 3 tone razor with brass ball and collar, a silver plated tube, and a nickel plated head. The blade bank cleaned up real good and with a light polishing shines now. I didn't do anything to the case I will leave that to who ever gets it.

Looks like a nice snag. I need to try an open comb some day.

I've been disappointed in the winter flea markets for sure. Today I was at the antique mall where Mama got a nice stained glass chandelier and I found 2 nice items for a total of $10! Gonna put a new knot in the Ever-Ready and the '53 Super Speed is darn near mint.

I have a Super Speed on the way, I was also given two razors today. Both Techs, a 1965 traveler and what I think is a Canadian Bakelite, possibly a WWII razor in case with mirror. Once the camera charges up I will be posting pictures of them.

You guys are almost making me consider trying a DE... Almost ;) I've got too many straights that need makeovers before I dive into anything else. I'm happy shaving with my straights for now but maybe in the future I'll have to give DEs a go... Nice snags guys!
