I bought into the hype

You will find out that it is not hype. The knife may not be for you - they aren't for everyone - but their quality and F&F are second to none.

Nice buy. I was never too keen on Sebenzas, they look too plain to me. The Sebenzas i've handled in the past were fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I prefer the look of the Umnumzaan or the Mnandi better.
Just my.02, congrats

I got a small sebenza last week. Love it so far. Only been looking into this "knife thing" for a few weeks and already spent way to much but... oh well.

agreed, in my experience everyone who tells my its a hype i simply let them fondle mine. They start looking for money to scrape up to get their own haha :D

Clearly not everyone will agree with the "Finest folding knives money can buy" line. I find this especially true when anyone mentions that phrase with regards to a sebenza. Anyway...

OP, I am sure you will enjoy your new Sebenza. I have owned several different folders, some much more expensive than a Sebenza... now I am down to one, a large 25 (not counting a couple SAK's). I think of myself as the best judge of quality I know so the sebenza must be great :D

I will Post pics for sure. I am into the plain and simple look, so that fits perfectly with me. I just can't wait to get my hands of a folder of that quality/

Congratulations on buying the finest folding knife money can buy.
I wouldn't go that far. But it's awfully darn good, especially for a production knife. And it's a must have if you're going to get into high-end folders. Even if you decide not to hang onto it, you've got to experience it for yourself.

He can consider a Sebenza a stepping stone to a Laconico. A knife I myself crave. Thanx to bld522 for bringing it to my attention.

Congrats, you'll love it.

I still own many custom fixed blades, but have sold all of my custom locking knives. I've also handled many at Blade costing much more, but the simple Sebenza design with its straight handle is the one I like the best.

One of the very few things out there that drives home the point 'you get what you pay for' and that point does not fade the older your Sebenza gets.
