I bought my first kershaw today, well actually first two. I got me a junkyard dog and I got one of my sisters a blue and black chive, and I got to say I was pretty impressed with the detailed work on both of the knives:thumbup:.

Sir, please sit down, we need to talk.

After running some tests, I regret to inform you that you have contracted Kershafunkatosis. While Kershafunkatosis is known to have zero known cure, the good news is that you can suppress it with regular doses of a variety of steel consumption from Tualatin Oregon, regulated by how much you can spend without your wife noticing, and taken frequently, as need. Luckily you have already located the support group for your affliction, and we will support you as you deal with your incurable disease.

Two in one shot? Even though one isn't for you it's pretty much a rap at this point. Next you'll get something like a SS Leek, then you'll be curious about the Damascus Leek, then you'll want a composite blade Leek, then you'll have to have an S30V Leek w/ G10 scales, then you'll NEED a ZDP Leek w/ Ti handles. And that's just one type of knife buddy. You still have Blurs, Bumps, Shallots, JYDs, and a ton of others. You might as well start putting money away every week for all the Kershaws you are going to NEED. Good luck, welcome, and stay sharp.

Well I had been debating about getting one for a while now but I didn't want to order online until I saw them in person. So I was walking trough a local mall I visit 2 to 3 times a month and I went into the local gun store to look at knives, I had never seen a descent knife at this place until today, most of the knives they sell are between 5-15 dollars and hardly any made in the USA, but I bumped into a small knife display case next to the cash register and I looked down and was shocked to see a spydie hole starring back at me. I looked around inside the case and discovered among the spydercos alot of kershaws. :D after a couple minutes of drooling over the knives some employee came up and asked if I needed any help and that was about the end of it for me. Oh and now I have to start saving up for a plain edged black bladed RAM all over again , but I'm thinking that my sister is starting to catch my addiction to knives.

Make sure your sister gets ample opportunity to handle some good knives, we need as many women on our side of the argument as we can get.

My second piece of advice is to go get a Zero Tolerance 0200. Not only is it the best knife in the ZT line up (IMO), but it's one of the better designs I've come across period (also check out the Spyderco Military). You will have one eventually, the only difference is if you get it now you'll know how small and wimpy all the other knives are right off the bat.

Congrats on the Dawg!!

Your gonna love the RAM.

funny you mentioned he milie, I checked the specs, closed length and blade length of the RAM up to my paramilitary and it seems as though they are the same size. :D so I'm pretty happy knowing I won't have to adjust to much to RAM seeing its about the exact same size as my para.

Another question on the RAM, when or did they swap the blade steel over from 13C26 to 14C28N, because I have looked at two places and one lists their to have the older 13C26 and the other place says it has 14C28N.

 Thanks for all the helpful advice, and seeing how I managed to accumulate $60-$70 I'll probably be ordering pretty soon.

I read that they went to 14C28N about August 2007. I hope this info was correct. If not please slap my hand for giving out the wrong info.

The transition from 440A to 13C26 was July 2007, the transition from 13C26 to 14C28N will be next year Jan.

hwpaintballer: Welcome to the addiction my friend! There's no turning back now; even if you wanted to...
