i got on Knifeworks today, thats where i order my Surefire lights(the ONLY lights i carry) and supplies.(batteries, lamps, etc) they stock alotta nice stuff including Beckers, so i said to heck with it, IF I CANT HAVE A TWEENER YET (COUGH), im gonna order a Necker. honestly i dont really need it, i already have a neck knife (Benchmade) i do like, so it will have some competition. i buy from very few knife brands, Buck and Swiss Army since childhood, Benchmades for 12 years or so when they started showing up in my gun mags, and Beckers in the past 6 or seven years when i realized exactly how stout these things are. it will be my 3rd (4th if you count the scalpel included with the BK9)....i didnt get the micarta grips, and the belt clip was sold out, so it very well might end up laced up in my boot. should be interesting explaining to the wife why i bought a new flashlight, and a new knife. maybe Santa came early :DLOL

Ultra compact (finger length), dual-output mini LED flashlight with extended runtime. Its virtually indestructible, two-stage light-emitting diode (LED) light source produces a smooth, pre-focused beam that, at maximum output, is over twice as bright as that of a big two-D-cell flashlight. At its low setting it produces a useful three lumens of light and continues producing useful light levels for 40 hours on a single lithium battery. Small size (it's lightweight enough to clip to hat brim for hands-free operation), dual output, extended runtime, and 10-year battery shelf life make the E1L perfect for camping, backpacking, travel, emergency/disaster preparedness kits, or as an everyday-carry for general use.

Max Output:
High: 45 lumens
Low: 3 lumens
Improved
Performance
Runtime:
High: 8.5 hours
Low: 48 hours
Improved
Performance
Bezel Diameter: 1.0 inch
Length: 4.0 inches
Weight: 2.8 ounces

FEATURES

•Dual-output LED light source has no filament to burn out or break, lasts for thousands of hours
•Rugged aerospace-grade aluminum body, Mil-Spec Type III hard anodized in olive drab
•O-ring sealed, weatherproof
•Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens
•Pocket clip
•Tailcap switch: press for momentary-on, press further to click constant-on
•Switch lockout prevents accidental activation during transport or storage

ditto on surefire lights. they're built like a tank. i have two 6p led, one as edc (well, i leave it in the car since it's a tad too big to stay in my pocket all the time) and another mounted on one of my ar-15s.

this will be my first LED Surefire. i have 3 others tho(E1e, E2D, and the 9P for bedside) best lights out there

Good call on the Necker. I'm not a neck-carry kinda guy, but it rides nicely on a belt or bag with a mini tek-lock (sp?) click. (ooh, I have the camillus version, dunno if the ka-bar is compatible). I got mine from knifeworks too.

I strapped on my surefire 6P/LED yesterday to head home into the flood zone. The power went out around 6:30p for 3 hours while I was moving stuff around town and I felt pretty clever. :-)

here in "tornado alley" when the weather acts up my neighbors know if anyone in these parts has lights its me. flashlights are one of my other passions. guns/knives/flashlights...it all comes with my upbringing

i'm a huge flashlight fan from days of yore on CPF and lately elsewhere...

i used to have some surefires, sold them all except a custon KL1 head on a 3-4x CR 123 tube. runs forever.

FENIX models supplied my EDC needs for a long time... but i did some poking lately and found jetbeam... the RRT-0 is pretty darn amazing, rugged and BRIGHT, and dim. very nice light!!! could even be a weapon light

but, check THIS out:

coming soon. the RRT-3 - 1200 lumens for an hour runtime.

skip the gun, fry them...

1200 lumens is UNREAL! whats with the bracket/mount on it...a carry handle?

those prices arent to bad at all. ive stuck with them all these years despite all the new brands simply because parts arent hard to find for a surefire and their customer service is top notch. its been my beliefe that if youre gonna carry a pistol daily, you better have a light and knife to go with it. thats why i want a TWEE-NER, TWEE-NER, TWEE-NER! that will be the one to replace my Benchmade and Bucks i carry now

yeah, optional handle for use as a "search and rescue light" or ... whatever :)

i've recently seen a 2200 lumen light, but at the size of it, you might as well buy a 6+ million candlepower HID unit :>

woody d,
Not sure if I'm the only one to have done it, but I had to double wrap mine, and I have fairly small hands. First wrap was a weave. Second layer was a simple spiral. Feels much better in the hand now that it's thicker.

I hate you. You are killing any chance of me ever having any sort of retirement income.

thanks, i have wrapped mine two different ways and i think im satisfied for now. eventually the micarta grips and the belt clip are in my future anyway. it is a nice piece of steel and im very happy with it, but that is what ive come to expect from Becker and Ka-Bar:thumbup:

The becker necker is pretty awesome. The only problem I had with it was the finger groove hump. Didn't fit my hand well.

As for the lights, surefires are nice but I really like my nightcore smart pd. Same specs as yours with the exception its capable of 130 lumen max output on a double A. I accidently ran it through the washer and dryer last week. Opened the dryer to fold my clothes and was greeted to eye blinding light. Works great, minus some wear on the finish. Surefires are great but they're not the best IMO.;) And you don't want to know how much it cost.

through the washer huh? thats hilarious, im yet to try that one. i got an old G2 in my Jeep i'll have to put to the test LOL
