I broke my Grip :(

using my new grip I just got in trade about 2 days ago i was cutting some carpet that was stuck between the blades on my lawn mower and the tip broke off ... if i send it back to benchmade does anyone know how much they will charge to either fix it or put a new blade in it ?
 
It'll be cheaper than a new knife. Perhaps you should call or email them. They have good CS.
 
I'm sorry to hear about your broken blade. If you don't mind telling us, how did carpet come to be stuck between the blades of your lawn mower?

I routinely shave my shag carpet down with the indoor mower. You have to make sure to bag it, otherwise it's useless.

I'd contact benchmade. CS from what I hear is good. :thumbup:
 
i was mowing up close to the steps and the kids had thrown an old welcome mat out by the porch and i didnt see it till i had run over it on the rider . it is 154 steel . ill contact them and see what they can do .

What, you mean you dont mow your carpet when it gets a bit long :confused:

I tried that once, but when i went to vacuum later all the shredded carpet bits came back up. Took forever. :grumpy:

1/4" ? That's a bit much to sharpen out, though you could get it Krein-ed.
 
Its $20-$30, plus shipping to them, and $5 for return shipping for a blade replacement on a mini grip, depending on what blade you want (satin or black). Im not sure if a full size is more or not
 
Benchmade just gave me a price of $25 to replace the blade on my 551 Grip. I just sent mine out yesterday so no word on how long it will take. I broke the tip on mine by dropping it on cement.

That sounds like a good price, you won't have to worry about getting carpet stuck if you buy a sheep :D:D:D.
