About a month ago I finally broke the 245 pound mark and weighed in at 241 pounds one morning, that's a full 64 pounds I've lost!!!!  :D
Can you imagine 64 pounds of ground beef stacked up?!?!?!?
Yep, we're still at it and Barbie is holding around the 140-145 mark but she is riding the stationary bikes at least 12 miles every other day when we go to the health club and generally more than that!!!!
And Barbie is still varying her workout as I am on several of the different machines they have.

They have a new set down climber that works different muscles than I am used to working and it gives me a real good 30 minute workout.
A week ago or so I thought I'd be different and try a treadmill for a change as although my walking is getting better around the house I still have a long way to go.
I got on and walked upright and straight for a full three minutes, then last Friday I walked two sessions of six minutes apiece by leaning and hanging on for short periods of time and with a short break in between.
Monday I walked only a short distance as we had to leave early and Wednesday I made up for it!
I walked a full fifteen minutes although I had to lean and hold on part of the time but by gum I did it and without stopping and wasn't bent over like when I use my walker!!!! We didn't go today because of appointments and such but Monday will be a new dawn and we'll be back at it again!!!!

My weight still varies with the amount of fluid retention but there is and will continue to be improvement if I have my way! I'm hoping to be back out in the Arena Gourd Dancing by New Years and hopefully back out in the Arena in full regalia come next summer!!!! But we'll see, we don't always make our goals but we can sure set new ones!!!! :D

Good to here it, I can't seem to break the 280 barrier. dang bacon is worse than drugs.

Hmmm....bacon!

Good to hear Edutsi...I plan to drop 10-20 myself.

Thats awesome bro. I bet that feels good on the knees.

Yvsa, I half expect to read the following soon in the Tulsa paper:

"Retired Machinist wins local Marathon; Sets New State Record." :D

Seriously, you are kicking butt on this. Maybe not quite ready for a road race, but I imagine you are doing a lot more outside walking without the rollator, which has got to be a wonderful feeling.

Congrats on a great sustained effort.

Pictures, pictures! :D

Some years ago, my knees were giving out, I was so heavy. 245 pounds ... I had to change everything, cut back on the weights and the muscle, cut WAY BACK on the sheer volume of food I ate, change the kind of food, find exercises that didn't add mass.

Three years later, I was 180, and my family said I looked terrible, I was so scrawny :p

Thanks Everyone!!!! :D
It is definitely a sustained effort and takes willpower but like everything else when you get used to doing something that helps you live you get to where you feel guilty and miss going when you can't go for some reason.

Norm I wish that were the case but walking on a treadmill and having something too hold onto is a lot easier than walking without anything. But you can bet that I'll get there one way or another, I'm a stubborn ol' ndn, like most of course.;) :D  :o
It does feel really good to walk upright like a man though and on most days I can do so around the house and out to the Lodge. :D

Warm weather and fishin' season is right around the corner, too. :p

Supercongrats!

Mike

Great news, Yvsa! I'm so happy for you.

And, should you need it, I've found about 20 of those pounds you lost, and have lost the muscle tone you gained, AND will be getting new glasses to compensate for your improved sight.

Uh...try not to get too healthy, will you? You're killing me here.:grumpy:
