Well. I figured I would give this pumpkin warden a makeover. So far it had lived a pretty hard life. It has been used as a chisel to take out bolts from a concrete floor, batoned through metal shelving, and may other hard use activities. Here is what I did.

-removed logo
-new satin finish
-small drop point
-zero edge
-hand shaped handles.

Man that g10 dust is brutal. It lingers in the air for a while. I wore a mask and eye protection and still managed to get dust in my eye..:thumbdn:
I used a 3m scotch bright wheel half the time and I switched off the sanding by hand.

The fact tht it looks like new for what its been thru is a testament to Busse Combat and INFI.

It looks nice and sharp again!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job Uncle J!

Looks great. I really like the looks of these handles that have had a 'second sanding'.

This was just a warm up. Most of the brutality took place at work...
I remember at on point the blade looked like a saw..lol

I must say after I freshened up the GW it feels a lot better in the hand. The slabs are noticeably thinner and lighter.. The blade feels a lot better balanced now.:thumbup:

the scales look great!!!!

and i like the drop. i would like a gw with a little less belly, so it would be better for utility type tasks.

You brought that GW back from the brink---and look at it now. Good work, Uncle Jarvis!

You mean you added a small drop point? You said clip point. It looks good to me!

It looks pretty good to me  Yeah I hate the G10 dust man!

I first thought, yea, you're right, you did butcher it, then I watched your abuse video. Chrikey  what's wrong man, wife giving you a hard time. Leave that poor little knife alone.:D:D:D:thumbup:

I actually prefer it lookin' this way! Nice work, U_J!! :D:thumbup: Love those grips. :)

ya, you butchered it, just send it my way, and I will put it in a good loving environment. (as I say "Game warden, it puts the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the concrete again" and the game warden replies "mister, please, let me outta here").

that pattern of the scales looks cool when sanded! dayum! satin is looking good!

first off, sorry for bumping such an old thread....

that vid just brought tears to my eyes....that poor old GW.....

anyways, could you describe the damage after that ordeal??? thanks....in the vid, the damage is not really visable because of the vid quality....

and i've always been intrigued by this pic:

did you actually cut through a nickel with your gw??? what was the damage like???

thanks again...

i love beatin the snot out of my edc skelly warden! i hammer it through the thick steel bands that bundle the pipe together and through 600 kcmil copper wire (abt 1" diameter), and no sissy ass batons, neither. when i say hammer, if one's handy, i use a hammer or my lineman's pliers. no damage yet, just dings that a steel took out, no damage at all from the copper.

jarvis-nice job with the refurb, looks awesome!

Yeah Uncle J has no mercy for the infi.

He's out to actually test it.

See my 1 of 7 DSJ he beat the chit out of t00:eek: WTF;)

GEH!! UJ!

Whats up. no foul in bumping an old thread...

The blade was fully convexed by steelnut before the beating.
After the concrete ordeal there was only minor blunting on the edge.
It took me 5 min to steel out the edge to full alignment.
Then I make a few passes with sandpaper and the blade was roll/blunt free.

The nickel I cut produced no damage on the blade.
I put the coin in a vice and batoned through it..

I cant wait until the SAR5s arrive.....
If you think putting a few scuffs on the GW was bad.

I will post a SAR5 beating thread in the near future and it will not be pretty. I can guarantee that.
