with the real intent of putting it to use, but them once I get it home, study and admire the workmanship, I just cannot see gutting game with it, when I have all of my other "users " to do the chore. So it never gets used for it's intended purpose! :grumpy:  Anyone else with this affliction? And I have even more expensive knives that I do use! Why is that? I need an intervention. :D

I'm with Mark, love the knife. I believe you'd get so much satisfaction from using it (NOT abusing it!) that it would be a very memorable experience. Go for it, that's what it is made for.

MAN OUT OF KINDNESS AND CONSIDERATION i'LL EASE YOUR PAIN. Just send it over my way and I'll make sure it gets some use.

Seriously though that is one lovely piece.

That is a beauty, forgive me though, I can't tell the maker.

Hi Mark - The knife is by Doug Ponzio, and the sheath is by Paul Long.

Thanks all - It begs to be used. Maybe if I start with some kitchen duty, and ease into it! :)

I have several that I can't bring myself to use...but I sure do fondle them a lot. This one in particular comes to mind.

I was'nt sure who made the knife, but I certainly knew who made the sheath!Nice knife and sheath BTW!

+1  Recognized the sheath as one of Paul's RIGHT away.

I have that same situation regularly David. I have many used knives that will accomplish any cutting task encountered, and I just can't bring myself to use an unused one!

This is the first time that I've seen a completed knife by Doug. I've been an admirer of his steel for years. Very nice. Well done.

Dave- thanks for the affliction posting. I have the same problem. A couple of years ago, while visiting in AK, I went to the shop of IRBI knives, and ordered one. When I got home and received it via mail, my wife said, " Thats a work of art, you can't use that." So, it stays home, and I'll carry my 5.5" blade reworked out of an Old Hickory slicer.

stone cold beautiful knife.

Still, I'd have it bloody the first possible opportunity.

Thanks - I wish I had your ability to mess it up. I am still thinking though. :D

Thanks all for your kind words. At least I am not alone! :)

That is sweet! I probably wouldnt go digging up rocks with it either, but a little blood on it wouldnt hurt. ;O)
